I don't think so. I replaced them because they make equaling noise under load, they need rubber shims to stop them squealing. Guy opted to replace them instead of adding shims.

Which tsb are u referring to? There are many

You are mistaken. All 4wd, Prerunner, and V6 Tacomas use the "8.4" housing. Not sure what the 4cyl 2wd ones have, but I think it's a 5 lug axle anyway.

Of course an e-locker housing would work just fine though

Fixed it, I doubt anyone wants to get rid of a Tacoma elocker housing on the cheap lol

You can, just takes more work. I've seen it done

Quote from Erik's Diff info page about retrofitting an elocker into an 8.4" housing:
"It cannot be easily retrofitted into a T100/Tundra or open-diff Tacoma style axle housing because the mounting bolt pattern is smaller. It "could" be done by an axle builder by doing major work to the mounting flange, but that is not really a practical option."

So it can be done...but I won't be doing it

Thanks Keith, and I am always looking for a cheap (or free)set of stock UCAs in case I get pissed off and decide to sell my truck. No sense letting the Total Chaos' go to a new buyer who will not appreciate them (plus the cash would be nice).
