Most common problem tends to be CV axles and alignment issues. But seeing as you're a PreRunner that gets rid of the CV issues and since you're going up only a couple of inches that pretty much rules out any alignment issues you'll have.

Yea im not going to be doing hard core off-roading. With me going to a private school and working I want have much time. And college in two years. But the main reason I wont be doing much off-roading is that if anything gets messed up my ass is grass. And the repair(s) would come out of my pocket.

Naa,if you start throwing on big tires etc you will start rubbing, but if run some 265's you will be ok

The Bilstein 5100s and AAL would probably come out around $500 and give you about 2.5" of lift. That's assuming you keep your stock coils and just replace the shocks.

5100's, front only, install them yourself, $200 + alignment. Save some money & later on buy the rear 5100's & AAL, DIY, $200 more dollars. No negative effects on the ride quality.

Ring gear damage

Not nearly as bad as I thought pinion is still in good shape. I might try to just get a new ring gear and slap that on there as everything else seems to be in perfect working order.

Yea i've got a healthy collection of broke shit I could hang up there, 2 R&Ps, a CV joint, a U-Joint, set of front spider gears, set of rear spider gears(not broke but saving in case I need), a tail light lense, a wheel spacer, NP205 forward out put gears, GM 10 bolt axles, bent tie rods, I'm sure I've got some more stuff laying around, might even have enough to cover an entire wall.

I would have a bunch of shit to add to it... however it depresses me too much so I throw it away.

I just want to have the option to go off-roading. I dont want to lose much ride quality with a lift and bigger tires etc. But here is what I want my Tacoma to look like in the future... http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/4622/cat/500/ppuser/4244

Save yourself some frustration.. BEFORE you lift... ARMOR. Add sliders and armor to whatever else you want to protect BEFORE you go offroad.. Look underneath and say.. that looks expensive, I don't want to buy one of those.. or that looks important, I don't want to break one of those 50 miles from town. Broker says to watch break over clearance... had he armored up first, he'd say fuck breakover clearance...I'm doin this shit. Well he still says it, his rocker panels just show it :) Once you lift it you will want to see what it can do.. and you WILL fuck something up. I don't care what anyone else says.

One more thing.. dump the idea of a brush guard, they just hang down low and get in the way.
