How did you manage to get a hold of Lurrys family photo?

Might be time to ditch the steering rack for either a beefier gm 1ton unit or a steering box and idler arm setup. I just don't see any real solutions to that one.

Since I'm waiting on a new 3rd member to arrive I had some time to kill. Decided to finish wiring up my solar setup (Scott inspired me).

Needed a place to mount the charge controller and remote for the lights. Decided to build a little box out of some 14 ga scrap I had laying around. Just broke out the plasma, cut the pieces to size and welded it up. Grommets for every hole and some captured stainless nuts to hold the lid on. A little bedliner and some silicone on the inside to prevent any leaks.. not that I was really to concerned with water. It will be placed upside down under the solar panel. You will be able to access the charge controller and check its status from outside the truck. Waiting on some Blue Seas marine fuse holders to mount in between the controller and the remote unit and another for in between the controller and the battery. They should be here Wednesday and I can finish mounting it.

Installed a new 4.56 e-licker 3rd member into the taco ( thanks Roger!!). But I don't think I bled the brakes enough... Feels squishy. Fawk. I'll test drive in the AM. Could be I'm used to the wife's ride though. Also welded up some extra beef on the t-case skid. Just cause. It's hot as balls today, started doing this shit when it was 102.

Thanks again.. the old one should be at ECGS by Thursday and then back by middle of next week. I'll keep you posted. But there was a MAJOR difference in the pinions! Wow! The new one spun smooooooth. I wonder if they just are preloading the pinions too much? This is my second one that has tried to eat the pinion (or ate the pinion).

As you could tell, I didn't even take it out of the box.

Oh yeah, it was still wrapped in plastic. Sorta like Kieth's virginity. lol

But I gave it a good test drive this morning. Runs great. I do need to bleed the brakes a little more though. They feed a tad spongy.. might just bite the bullet and buy new pads and rotors while I'm at it.

Washed, clay bar and waxed my truck today. It has been needing a good wash since Colorado.

I need to do this. I have rail dust all over my truck from parking next to a train track for about a year + my truck has never seen wax on the sides. I did the roof, hood, and tailgate last year.

Just takes so long to clay bar then do the the Mothers three step wax that I always put it off.....4 years later and still never been 100% done lol

Doing the clay bar was only about 30-40 minutes. I just used Meguires carnauba wax since that is all I had time for. I think the clay went pretty fast since my truck stays in the garage at home and work so it was pretty clean.

Well, I am sure that you have done far more memorable things and some down right forgettable but one thing is for sure - when you are on your death bed, you will not be saying, "I wish I finished waxing that truck!" lol
