Got an alignment (about the 10th time this year), and oil change last night.

That lifetime warranty has paid for itself about 5 times now.

Frack me..
did the green wire mod on the a/c control wiring behind the glove box so when I turn defroster on the a/c compressor clutch wont kick on and off.

Why? The most common leak is the front seal on the compressor.. If your compressor doesn't cycle during the winter, the seal dries out and develops a leak. Mineral oil is in the refrigerant specifically for lubricating parts and seals. That seems like a silly MOD IMO.

Removed carpet today to clean and dry, smelled pretty bad this morning when i drove to work

I pulled all my carpet out last night, it is NOT going back in. I can get a Bedliner kit (herculiner) for $75.00, so that is the plan. I STILL had water under my Passenger seat last night, yuck!

Yea I still had water under my carpet too. I was actually amazed at how easy the interior removes. Took at most 40 mins to strip down to remove carpet. Took me longer to clean the carpet mat shit that is in there.

Any Houston guys know where to pick up sound deadener local?

I've read it doesnt work so great and the possibility of it smelling later down the road doesn't excite me. I looked at it at home depot and it isn't very thick at all and I figure the thicker the material the better the results.

I bought mine from onlinecarstereo.com. Its a LOT cheaper than buying it locally. Of course you have to wait for it to arrive, but it usually ships fast.

Yea I'll prob order online or not even worry about until I go to do an audio install, which is kind of the way I'm leaning right now. I'll see how long it takes the air mover to dry my carpets out.

Hints to as why I don't want to deal w it right now. I figure once I do get around to a stereo upgrade I'll be stripping back to this away to run amp wires, plus it takes less than an hour to strip this much out. So im prob just gonna say f it for now.

I'm not in here for a week or two and I see we have two more to add to the "sub" run fun. We should start a thread for water logged Taco's. Maybe the third gen will have an actual seal on the bottom of the door instead of the BS they are using now. If you had a reg cab you could seal it good, but a AC or DC is impossible to seal the way it was designed without a ton of mods.

I had an 82 Yota and I had water over half way up the doors on many occasions and never had a drop leak in. Toyota needs to look at that design again.

Yea - I don't know who thought that it was a good idea to stop the cab gasket at the bottom of the door and then transfer the gasket to the door for the lower portion, but that Japanese guy should throw himself on his sword for being a horrible engineer. I guess they were thinking it would get scuffed by shoes if they ran it all the way around...?... All my Fords had it run all the way around and the seam was at the bottom. Super easy to replace if you did wear through it.

what i dont get is that there is two weather seals on the door and neither one can hold anything kind of water pressure. ones just on the bottom, figure they would just cut it out and save the money installing it in the first place

Just my temp ride, but I washed Drews truck ( think it's the first bath it's had) I needed it clean to see how much body work I have to do. Found I just a few sm dent besides the cab/tailgate, and a ton of scratches....lol
