Got the corner supports and top rails on. Will get the rest of the supports and fenders put on tonight and then clean it up and give it a coat of paint. Then it will just need a floor and lights and I can start the process of getting it registered. If it was 6” longer I couldn’t fit it in the driveway hooked to the truck.

Well, my fears came true. Thought I would get away with a light weight, light duty trailer but the frame was a little too light duty. The rails started tearing away from the frame rails this morning. Not breaking welds, actually ripping the wall of the tubing. No big deal, I’ll just cut my tongue tube off of this frame and scrap the frame. Then use my tongue tube to build a new frame out of 4” channel. I debated doing that anyway when I first started converting it to a utility trailer but didn’t want to spend the money on channel. This will give me a much heavier duty trailer that will be good for more than just hauling a zero turn. I’ll also make it a true 6’x10’ this go around. Will give me 8” more width and shorten 6” to make it a little easier to fit in the driveway.

That shit pisses me off. At least that was a decal, I had a 97 Dakota that they slapped a big ass chrome badge on that was harder to remove then the factory ones.

That sucks, those chrome badges are a little more effort to remove, I debadged my taco years ago and they kind of sucked to remove. What really burned me up is the salesman was kind enough to ask me if I wanted the front license plate mount drilled into the bumper (in NJ a front plate is "required"). I told them leave that off or I'm not taking the car, and they did listen, but they snuck this stupid decal on the back hatch lol. Bunch of cork soakers.

Did the same thing with my Civic. After fighting with them for two days I convinced them not to drill the front bumper for the plate bracket. They almost didn’t believe I was serious about walking away from the deal if I got there and there was a bracket in the bumper. We’re required to have a front plate but I went about 10 years without ever having one. Only been pulled over twice for it and both times were in that Civic. I just told the cop I couldn’t put it on because there was nowhere to mount it. He looked at the bumper and said “huh, you’re right. You should probably look into that though” and gave me a warning. I only run a front plate now because if I remove the bracket on this truck it leaves two big square holes in the front bumper that I can’t stand.

yeah I have my PBA card in case somebody gives me shit but I don't like to flash it. Get them to patch the holes. In the 13 years I've had my taco I've always told them i don't recally them saying anything but my excuse was always "oh my plate must have fell off and landed in my back seat" and as long as you're not an asshole the cops don't hassle you.

I decided to take advantage of what I feel is the tail end of the crazy used car market and I sold my most comfortable vehicle. $7000 for 350,000 miles and no air conditioning. Bittersweet, I remember going with my dad to buy it new. Lots of memories in it.

My son and I did some maintenance on the smaller ZTR. The front wheels were complete replacements with flat free tires. The rear wheels had a bit of rust on them, so we used wirebrush wheels on drills to clean them up. Painted them and took tires over Villa tire shop to get the new tires mounted. Total ~$210
Front wheels/run flats $90
Rear tires $84, Valve stems $3.44
Paint $12
Tire mounting and disposal $20

Universal ignition switch I bought for the old school kuboter didn't fit, so I will need to source a different one.

Oil and filters replaced on the smaller ZTR. I need to order a set of steering shocks/dampers, and this machine will be rocking and a mowing.

Despite the sweltering humidity I got my Honda tires rotated and oil changed. Then moved onto the kubota, did the HST, hydraulic, and both air filters. Afterwards I took a cold shower and then got a roast pork Sammy from one of my favorite places down in marmora called pappys pig roast

Kubota maintenance items have gotten expensive.

Weird, but true.
In a dream last night, I thought of how I was going to get the skidsteer up on railroad ties so I could service it(pull skid plates, clean out debris and change oil etc). I'm gonna load it on the equipment tilt trailer, then drive directly onto the ties from the trailer, no worries about busting out some automotive car ramps or messing up my jack.

they have def gone up. My fine filter for the air is up to $55 for that bastard!

that sounds like a great idea. I had a hell of a time with my hydraulic filter with the mower deck and backhoe on and climbing underneath. I may or may not have ingested a gulp of UDT-2 lol. Having it elevated would be great I was trying to figure out a way to put it on my 2 post lift but couldn’t figure out something that was safe enough for my liking.
