I used an old Craftsman screwdriver and thinned the tip on a grinder.. took a deadblow and tapped it in and wiggled.. did that all the way around. easy peasy.

This is the way to go. Don't worry about deforming it a little bit bc you can beat it back out with a hammer.

Yep...
I paid like $125 back when I got my new work car, the Accord for life time balance &rotation and tire hazard & warranty
It has paid off big time for the Accord, 2 new tires and 4 visits for tire rebalance/rotate, my Taco has had 2 tire replaced, and numerous times balance/rotate I go every 5k/oil change

FWIW, I've never had to reshape my dust covers on my wheel bearings, do it right the first time and don't act like a neanderthal and it doesn't happen. :)

You probably removed them for the first time before they got corrosion and were stuck tight

maybe.. never had any corrosion on them to be honest. Guess they don't last long enough. lol

My fuse box arrived today. Just short of 6 weeks when I was told it would be 2 weeks. But this thing is fucking nice. Just have to figure out what the fuck all these wires go to now!

Complete clusterfuck of wires. Pretty sure I know what they all go to. Glad I bought that fire extinguisher!

I left the dust covers alone for now, gonna just order bearings or complete spindles in the future.

Finished passager side last night retrorq and greased, greased all u joints and I was able to spray lithium grease between all the leaf packs, no skid plates, front wheel spaces installed, connected solar panel, need to install bed mat, pack recovering gear, ARB Fidge and ready for sand!

Don't be scared to knock that fucker off. Its really not a big deal. Also, you HAVE to take that dust cover off to swap out wheel bearings.

I remember when I used to wash mine a lot. Poor bitch hasn't been washed since I don't know how long. I really should give her a good wash and wax. Bad owner. :( I'll blame it on the drought and doing my part to conserve. :) <thumbsup> Fuck we need some more smileys. :bentover:

Well appears that the passenger side c-clip to hold the axle in place is failing. Damn axle popped out about 1/2" yesterday and it's marking its spot. My allergies are off the chain at the moment so maybe I'll fix it tomorrow. Maybe. Otherwise fuck it. I'll keep driving the 81... It's not too hot out.

Isn't that the same problem drew was having with them?

Maybe.. but I've never had an issue before. The c-clip broke when we pulled it out and I replaced it with one "similar". Its not holding. But I do have a spare VatoZone axle in the garage, I'm going to take the c-clip off it and us it. It should be fine. I just don't have the energy to do it at the moment. Fuck oak pollen.

Fuck everything that is blooming right now. So much pollen in the air right now and I did yard work today. Working on getting drunk so I dont feel my eyes and scratch them out.
