What have you done to your ride lately?

That's Mr Asshole to you
Talk to the dealership? They flashed the HU in our 4Runner for free when it was still under warranty. Tell them it has been intermittent for a while and just started to get constant. They may hook you up.
Seeing as I never take it to the dealer I doubt they will do anything for free.
However after the first trip to work it didnt reset or freeze and seems to be connecting to my phone much quicker.

Well after going out and starting my truck in a 27* windstorm this morning only to get in it 30min later and it’s still cold (6.7 powerstroke, cold air intake and 5” exhaust) cause my truck pushes all the heat out the tailpipe. I ordered a fast idle jumper for it. We have this feature on our diesel buses and Ford use to have it from the factory, not sure why they no longer do.

I have purchased a few Ferd things from these guys, they have a pretty good sale right now, 15% a lot items/brands Promo code 15YEARS

I’ll have to check out their leveling kits. I’m wanting to put at least one of those on it to get rid of the red-neck rake (reverse bro-rake) it has from the factory.

that rake is for towing...

Yes I know, but in the event that I’m towing at night I could care less if my headlights are not level.

Order a custom tuner for the F150SCREW
Cranks up the boost to 18-20psi, 55hp increase, 95 to 100lb-ft torque increase(@2,500o rpm) on 93 octane, it’s about 10% less if running 87 octane, which I will have that 87 tune as well, when I get new shoes and treds I will be able correct the speedo too.

Ordering everything to do a complete tuneup to get baseline readings. :chuck:

Any recommendations on a decent obd scan tool? But not too overly priced.

So my dad has a F150, he wants me to work on his after I told him what I’m doing and my neighbors have recently hit me up for hire for 4 newer F150 trucks that they want me to preform routine maintenance on, they know I don’t take them to the dealer, extra cash will pay for my parts and tires etc, $20 is twenty buck$!

Does your tailgate lock and unlock with your key fob? My buddy had his tailgate stolen off his F350 Platinum and $4,500 from insurance later he installed a masterlock tail gate lock and the OEM Ford tailgate lock on his truck.

It really helps to add that 30 cent hose clamp...

The problem with cheap ones is...

“Can I read ABS/SRS/TPMS (etc.) codes with this?

Unfortunately, no. Our OBDII reader is able to access real time engine information that is part of OBDII and read and clear check engine light only. It is not able to read or clear warning lights for: ABS, SRS, VSC, Oil Change, General Maintenance Lights; or any other non-OBDII systems. These systems can only be accessed with specialized tools.”

I think that is pretty much going to be the case with most, if not all, of those things. I'm not aware of any that will read those things....but I may just be an idiot.

If you have a decent scanner, important to me before I work on someone else’s car to run a scan on a used and preowned vehicles to make sure airbags are still present and any other codes.

Yeah go with the last word, lol

I’ve tried several cheap ones and have yet to find one that’s actually does much more then read codes. I had a Bluetooth one like Sean is talking about and it was more of the same. I believe you could look at a few things but not run actual tests. I have a Snap-on scanner, but it was about $6k lol

Yes it locks with the fob

All three of these get the job done and do everything but reprogram ECU/TPS, but your gonna pay out the ass like I did. If I were you I’d look for a deal on amazon for an OTC brand scanner, they have a tablet version that I bought for my shop in Spring and the love it. I also just bought one for my Livingston shop for around $600 and it does everything my high $$ do except for lack of on-line connectivity/Diagnostic back up.
