What have you done to your ride lately?

That's Mr Asshole to you
Yep same (minus the carwash). $1,400 for a new windshield from Volvo (I can only use OEM Volvo windshield due to the heating element and camera system the car has). Yes it's expensive but the heated windshield is da bomb. Clears up the windshield in about a minute.
Just keep it in the garage and dont have to worry about the windows fogging.

The wife took her XC90 into the dealer for service back in late March, early April. They gave her a loaner XC90. She drove it to San Marcos for a work meeting. Rock kicked up from a semi and broke it to shit. $2100! $1400 for windshield and $700 for camera calibration and installation. Assholes. As @Anathollo said, has to be OEM part. Hope she does not get a rock in hers.

lol @ 10X the cost of my Subaru windshield that's heated and made for Subaru's eyesight system ($220).

Thats gotta be all "mark up" for Volvo owners. Unless it's made from something crazy. Next time you guys are bored post a pic of the brand insignia on the windshield and Ill do some research.

The truck’s air conditioning system got recharged and checked for leaks today. No obvious leaks found, so the shop thinks it just slowly leaked refrigerant over the years and this was the first summer I noticed it. I’ll monitor it for the rest of summer to see if it stays cold.

That's common of every automotive ac system.

I don't want to give up what little garage space I have now.

so on the topic of AC recharge...mine still blows relatively cold after 10 years. I was thinking of having it recharged just due to age more than anything, but I'm also kind of thinking that it aint broke so I shouldn't try to fix it.

It does take a minute before it starts blowing cold though. So i guess the only thing that I would hope to achieve is faster cooling.

Don't touch it till it stops cooling or you will just speed up the leaking.

This. If it’s cold just leave it.

Sounds good to me. Lord know I have enough other things to work on that I keep putting off. No need to add to it.

So speaking of other things that need to be done to the truck. I have the D29XL leave to go in my Dakar pack and a 3* shim. I get pretty bad vibes between 20 and 30 mph. bad enough that it shakes the crappy Metra DVD surround and rattles something aweful. I have some surface rust on the leaf pack, which was like that when I got them since they ship with no packaging.

I figure I'll take the leaf pack off, disassemble, remove surface rust, prime and paint. Allow some time to cure before reassembly. I'm working remotely, so letting it cure for a few days is no big deal right now. Any recommendations on paint to use or prep procedure for best results?

@AlienXtx had some grease that smelled like a sweet fruit and was red that lasted for years on my old Dakar leaf packs. I can't remember the name of it.

The nice thing about the EZ-Slide (apart from the name) is that its a dry coating.. so nothing to attract dirt like grease does.

Smells like big red, and that was penitrating lube. The stuff your thinking of we get from one of our Venders so its labeled with there name. Its just a red grease, but I got plenty.
