This is the old design, I think the new one might be like a king shock?

thats pretty sad that they thought rubber bushings was a good idea.... King's design is OK but they also blow out. Mine blew out as well as a few friends who have them + many others Ive seen online. Seems like the first thing to go on them from what Ive seen in person.

Filthy has hhad kits available for years because its so common of an issue with kings on toyotas King Shock Parts | Spherical Bearings, Snap Rings, and Misalignment Spacers (Parts #45,46,47) - Starting at $54

This is the only issue holding up my Kings from working - both are blown.

I've got 30-35k on my Kings.. no issues.

I had almost double that one mine before they blew + salt belt + mud/water/sand so you should be much better off in your location w/o the salt. Just keep an eye on them when you do preventative checks

my buddy's ...he waited about 5k too long lol

and if you wait way too long and the bolts welded to the bearing sleeves .... :bentover:

I bought the rubber grommets they sell for them but pretty sure they are not a good idea for my location. I forsee more crap being stuck in them then causing issues than them actually keeping dirt/salt out.

at least w/o the grommets you can clean and lube them up + the biggest thing - see what shape they are in. Grommets would put a stop to all maintenance + inspections

your doing a damn good job of keeping the dirt/salt out right now lol

Huh, when I get them in tomorrow I will take pictures. Seems that Toytec noticed that an hourglass bushing wasn't working to that is good at least.

Well here is the new shock. I am not sure how long the o-ring will last but it is definitely an improvement over the previous one.
Pics aren't working for me.

I found myself looking at used Sequoias as a family hauler camper. Same engine (and I think trans) as the GX/LX/LC but at a much lower cost.

I should count the coils on my Kings, they are also 700 lbs coils.
