once I add a toggle switch to fool the parking break control. They have gotten creative and you can no longer just ground out the wire, they want you to set/release/set the parking break now. I'm gong to put a toggle in-line under the dash so I can get around that shit.

Added some tie-downs to the bed. Mr Gasket Anchortrax. I'll be adding a 3rd one to the front of my toolbox and use it as a pet tiedown

One on each side of the bed.

That sucks! My wifes Kenwood I just ground the wire. But its really good they don't tap into the GPS data and sense if the vehicle is moving or not. That might be a little tough to get around with the nav units.

Ok, I'm thinking about ordering one of these, Thoughts....

This is the route I'm going, as seen on expo portal. Been thinking of it for awhile and while looking one day I found a pic of where someone had done it. Wasn't sure if there was enough room under the soft top or not. But this made up my mind.

Yea I like the looks of them. And after seeing so many at jambo. I'm getting one once the funds come around. Trdparts in Dallas has good prices on them. I'm thinking of also tearing the steel guts from it and remaking w heavier duty steel so they can be loaded down w stuff as need. Such as the can-back models.

Me too! I don't quite get the RTT under the best top... With the amount of effort to set up the tent, I would opt for a full sized tent with a queen sized air mattres! But that's me. I absolutely love setting up the RTT in a min or two and using it as a portable rest stop... As convenient as one of these...

Got my fix for the parking break wire on the new radio, going to install this push/pull under the dash.

Pulling my locker motor apart... found the issue with it not engaging. After checking for power in both positions (locked and open) I pulled the motor and tore it open. Found one of the electrical contacts that operate based on the limit switch was cooked. Basically it was melted to the limit switch. The brushes and the armature on the motor appear to be in good condition. I've built up the melted area with some 2 part epoxy and will then file it smooth. Then its on to reassembly and testing. As to the reason that caused this... well the locker got stuck in the locked position and I was jacking with the switch trying to open it. So... my guess is that it just barely was touching the limiter area and it overheated that one spot. We'll see once I put it back together.

note the outer limit spring is charred... it was also bent a bit.

I didn't take any more pics... but basically I sanded that epoxy flat, I cleaned up all the brushes and contacts with 1000 grit sandpaper (didn't have any emery cloth), cleaned out all the old grease, and reassembled. The key to the assembly is to make sure the cam that determines which stop you are at is in the middle. Also make sure the mechanical locker parts are in sync with the button on the dash because as soon as you give it power it will attempt to cycle to that position. Anyhow, all back together and it seems to work.
