IMO they aren't worth the money. I've had two red tops die on me. I know a couple of guys who sell them (at AutoZone and 4WP) and they get more of them returned than any other battery. Yellow tops are better... but I've just been burned too many times to buy another Optima. I have a RedTop in my old 4Runner, it came with the vehicle and it started to give me some issues. I put it on a trickle charger for a few days and so far its been working, but if I was to put it under a load (winch/lights/stereo/etc) I'm pretty sure it would croak. For the money I'd buy a Diehard Platinum (exact same battery as an Odyssey). But Optima has a great advertising machine and people still buy them, just not going to be me (any more).
Consumer Reports car battery ratings, the Optima does well... but I've just never had luck.

Actually, the Odyssey brand batteries are available with a metal casing.. don't think its think enough to stop that bullet. But it does make the battery a little more rugged.

New Power Steering Pump and new gascap in. Woot! Now to just get an alignment done, do an oil change...and I think all maintenance/repair will be done....Meant to paint my wheels before classes start up again...that never happened. BUT I did get my sub enclosure and platform (for my gear) built. Now by the end of the year I just need an exhaust and maybe a bestop....

Well isn't this just my luck. The shop installed the first new pump and then found out that the dumb shits they ordered it from sent the wrong one. so then they ordered another one and had it rushed over and they installed it. then they were checking everything and breaking it in, but no. fucking that pump is defective. NOW they have a third pump on it's way over to install. UGH! Guess they don't call my truck the Joker for nothing eh? At least they are good guys at this shop and are taking care of me....

They are estimating once it's finally good, it'll be about $440 total including install and pump and fluid. And Last december I blew $2200 replacing shit that took 3 days. After this new pump is in, I will have replaced every single steering component in my truck since last december.

Ouch! Look into a power steering fluid cooler. It will help with the life of those parts, especially in the AZ heat.
