Wrench meet at Rob's - Drive Train Lift!

This one is going to be a little different than others I have had in the past, mainly because the plan is to work on MY 4runner. I have a 2" 4crawler Body lift on it's way that I am hoping to get some help installing and some 2" motor mount spacers. The BL and motor spacers will be here on Wednesday of this week but I just talked to Bud Built and my crossmember may or may not make it by this weekend. There will be other things to cut and weld such as raising the gas tank and horse shoe crossmember. I am open to doing this either this Saturday (the 19th) or next Sat (the 26th) depending on what works best for those who want to come lend a hand. If we do it this weekend I can throw a temparary spacer in my current crossmember - no biggie, if it is the 26th then I will have everything on hand. I would also like to get my sliders welded on and maybe get some help with a few electrical issues.

I will of course buy some beer and something to burn on the grill, and anyone is welcome to crash Saturday night if they wish. I am sure that if I get enough help we could also do some basic work on other rigs. Help me pick a weekend and thanks, I'm looking forward to getting this Drive train lift done.

Well family is coming in on the 23rd for a week... so it would have to be this weekend for me to assist. But I'll have to check with the management team (spouse) and make sure we don't have anything going on. But I'd love to help.

Christa is going to kick my ass if we don't go camping somewhere this weekend since I had her take off of work for Big Bend then it got canned.

I'd be down for next weekend though, and my Sunday obligations are in the evenings now, so I won't have to do the damn 5:00a departure thing anymore.

Id be down for next weekend. This weekend is my stepdads 60th bday, so I can't make it. The only thing for me is, I can be there for moral support, I can't lift anything for the next 2 months bc of my surgery. But im pretty good at standing there and watching

Thanks for the enthusiasm Murphy, but I think this meet is toast. I have had a couple of things come up that are pushing me toward needing to get it done this weekend.

1) the rightful owner (my dad) of my long term leased welder needs to borrow it for a couple of weeks to work on his project car. I am supposed to return it this Sunday afternoon.
2) my wife is trying to talk me into keeping the kids on the 26th so she can go to a wedding.
3) I am not a patient person and cannot stand to wait.

I will be getting to work on the drivetrain lift this Saturday the 19th at around noon.

Sean I hate to make you drive all this way and not have much of a party for you, but it is up to you if you can get free and feel like it. Otherwise I will see about getting some of my local buddies, wife or neighbors to come and help me lift the body.

You guys are still welcome to come down on the 26th, we can work on Murphy's swap and what ever if anything is not finished already on mine, just know that there will be a couple of hours mid day that I will be watching kids and you guys will be on your own. In the mean time I will talk to my mom and see if I can her to watch them. If not we can take a break and BBQ or you guys can keep working without me.

Thanks Randy, that might be an idea. Depends on when you think you could make it. I have the welder for this weekend, would you be able to bring it on the 26th? You have a plasma machine too don't you? Is it a 3 phase? I only have a standard 220v plug. The plasma would be very nice for cutting out the horseshoe crossmember.

Both are single phase but the plasma needs 50 amps the ironman needs 30 to run at full power but can run on 20.
