this is more to get the word out that i am looking for an engine.
california has a great deal of pull yards that will ship (looking that direction the price is 2500 for just the engine)

but if i can get an engine local or at a pull yard-cheap! finders fee for a good engine or better yet ill buy yours.

need ecu and harness also if you have it.

You might be able to buy an entire vehicle for that price. Then you'd be sure tohave all the parts you need.

that is what i am thinking. here in shreveport there are not a whole lot of rolled vehicles tho. so i was just thinking of if anyone sees a deal to post it here.

4x2 will work fine. You might want to get one that had a manual tranny though, because some of the autos had a different output shaft.

This truck was in the Scotland tornado that came through Arkansas this spring it does run and drive but has body damage. The ac works and tires are like new the engine is3400 v6 and it's auto 2wd 870-447-3125

The later models have a different output shaft that you can't mount a pressure plate to.

I would also recomend getting a manual trans 3.4 so that the ECU and wire harness will need less modifications. The way I was planning on doing mine was to get everything out of the same truck, motor, trans t-case, wiring harness & ECU. All of the wiring & ECU stuff scares me alittle, but if you swap everything then it should be just plug & play.

Yeah, I'm gonna look for an ECU, but I'll go standalone if I can't find one cheap.

IMO the whole program was a waste and meant to be a pay back to the UAW. But that's my own opinion!

How about an older Supra I6 swap? I was looking into those for Clyde. I see older Supra's all the time on CL. http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/supra/ Granted this swap was done into an older Yota, but its basically the same body style, not sure on motor mounts. Something to think about.

Yea, 2x the american v8 is just better bang for the buck.
