I thought you got a rebuild kit?

Nope. I bought 2 complete working hubs. Really sucks because all I am going to do is steal 1 little spring out of 1 of them and put them on a shelf, 1 will be a spare and the other will be for parts. What a waste of $$, lol. I tried to find the part I needed, it's a shame because if I could get that spring then I would have a good working set I could sell. Mine lock into 4wd fine, but the drivers side won't unlock unless I pull the 6 cover bolts and disengage the axle by hand.

Missing. You know which spring I am talking about? It basically holds the engagement gear to the back of the hub face.

Edit: I know that doesn't make much sense, I'll get a pic.

Tommy want wingy..
Those springs are hard to find. Marlin has every part to rebuild the locking hubs except that one. One of mine is rusted to shit due to water getting in the hub way before I got the truck and the other looks brand new.

I need to pick up a spare set of hubs as well in the future. One doesnt turn easily when trying to lock and unlock the hub due to an crack on the hub face, which is probably where the water got in the hub.

Nice man!

Thanks

I told you some would turn up awesome deal too

True, you did. I thought it was a hell of a deal, even when you tack on the shipping from AZ which is NOT cheap, lol. I am hoping that I can sell my locker to recoupe a little of the money. I know the 4.30 gears are not really desireable but it would be nice if I could sell the stock 3rds with the locker. Either way I am going to be broke as piss. No more buying shit for the 4runner for awhile, lol.

Should I keep the Aussie locker that is coming with the new 3rds or swap my Spartan in and sell the Aussie? Would be easier to just keep the Aussie / sell the Spartan.

I would keep the Spartan cause its a better/simpler design

Way to create more work for me Randy, that would mean I would have to take BOTH 3rds apart to swap them, lol. But the Spartan has been good to me and doesn't pop like other auto lockers, but Aussie has a great rep too. I'll think about it.

So I guess that I will be a bit over geared now. Best I can tell is that 5.29's are perfect gearing for 35's. I am super stoked! My runner needs these gears pretty badly. He said it would take him a couple days to get them pulled out of the truck and packaged for shipping, maybe I'll have them by the end of next week which is fine since the truck isn't going anywhere until my Bud Built gets here and I still have alot to do to finish up the drive train lift. I really do need to lay off of spending so much money on the 4runner for awhile.

Should be just about right for those 35's. :)

I already bought a brand new (after market) trans mount. Shipping on the 3rds was high enough already, more less on a transmission.

Over geared is good unless you're wanting to drive long distances

Yep. Should be fine, even at 70 mph. The poor little motor needs all the help it can get.

Should be just about right for those 35's. :)

What 35's? I'm broke! Still going to hit up the exhaust shop once I get the DT lift done, then I'll need to save for the HF trip in a couple weeks. I was thinking about buying the front Bud Built skid before HF but that is out now.
