I'm down to go but I can't this weekend, I already made plans to clean up at the deer lease with dad. Drew said he was busy next Sat zones could go then and I can put off picking up my Dakars till then and just make one trip. I wonder how much he would want for some bucketseats? I also need the driverside kick panel and lower door seal trim.

Fuck that, I can get better then stock for that I'm sure. Maybe he has some fucked up ones that Incan throw a cover on fir cheeper.

He did say that all prices where based on condition. I bet you could get the same ones I have out of a newer model for less than that. As long as you don't mind the condition that mine are in anyway.

Y'all should just come Labor Day and wheel at Bridgeport with us

Sorry, other plans already. Besides, I can't wheel my Taco period, and won't wheel my 4runner until the brakes get upgraded.

Your seats are just fine with me, if I can find some in that good of shape for cheep then I will get some and just throw a cover on them.

I'm with you on the wheeling thing, I'm not wheeling my Taco till it has a locker ( not counting the beach) and the Hilux till it's running like a top front to back..

LOL, thanks. I definatly need a better rear bumper. I don't think it would have made too much of a difference in this case because of the angle I hit it at, but none the less my rear bumper sucks.

I don't think that's your answer. The basic fundamental differences between Disc and Drum brakes make Drum brakes "stronger". You just need to make sure you've got enough braking power to lock them up because one they're locked, they're hold WAY better than disc.

Disc brakes handle more smoothly because their friction curve is linear while drums are exponential.

I would probably not really do the rear disk conersion. Just been sifting though lots of brake stuff.

Thinking more along the lines of V-6 brakes up front & a larger master cylinder for starters.

yeah these 80's models are lacking in the brake department big time, mine is in need of up grade too before I take it off road

Tommy want wingy..
Rob if you upgrade the master cyl and do a little tune up on your rear drums, Id bet your brake probs will be fixed and save you some cash in the mean time. My 0.02c

Thanks for the .02 Chris. I already replaced the rear shoes & wheel cylinders, I think they still need some adjustment. A master cylinder upgrade is definitely in my near future. Still tossing around the idea of V-6 front brakes.

That is a nice read, I hope that I don't have to go through as many set-ups as he did to find a brake combination that works well.
