I got a few things done this weekend, nothing very exciting & I left my camera at work so I don't have an proof. I went to Houston & picked up that alternator, it does seem pretty strong. Also since I managed to bust one of the bushings out of my NEW idler arm I went ahead & beefed it up some. Just took it apart & machined some bronze bushings to replace the crappy plastic ones that keep breaking. I am still going to make a brace for it, but it did survive for a couple of hours at BVORR with the new bushings. One of my buddies made me a real kick ass arm rest for my ammo can center console, I'll post some pics of it later.

I've seen those before & I agree, it would be awesome. I would do it if I had a spare set & could swap them back & forth.

When I do make a set of doos like those, they will have cup holders inset in the door. I think it would be bad ass.

yeah if you flush mounted them that would be awesome.

Tommy want wingy..
Hey Rob. I should be picking up my 35's today to get mounted tomorrow. The tires should be a go by the weekend.

Also I found a place where I can get some Chevy 63's for practically free if you want a set. LMK.

Before I bought tube doors I did a ton of research. Pirate has a couple great links on the subject. I decided I wanted to take them down a little lower and remove all the window surround portion. I was going to do something like this.

Which 35's did you go with again? How much lift do you think you'll get from those 63's?

I sent you a link in the CL finds for the 33" SSR's.. sure they are 15"s but that is why they make a tire stretcher.

In reading the 3rd Gen 4Runner forums, keeping the stock Wheel and plugging a 285/75/16 on helps a lot to prevent rubbing. If I change wheels, seems as though there will be other things to tend to. I REALLY like those SSR tires.. Got a cheap Wheel I can buy to go with them? What does mine use? it's a 6 lug, what the hell is 5.5?

This should probably be in the DumbAss section.. the fact is, I just don't know because I have no experience with it.

I will at some point, but for right now I have some bigger concerns like reliablity & driveablity. I have a few bugs that need to be worked out & it is a pain in the ass trying to fix them & wheel at the same time. I think the next step in this build should be to get it taggged & inspected so that I can drive it to work out the little issus.

Sounds good man, Do you know of a little bar or resturant to meet at & have a beer in Hempstead? Saturday or Sunday work better for you? How practically free are the 63" chevy spring? I would like to have them but the tires are already streching my budget.
