Damn Sean, those are bad ass. Same $100 as the FJ80 TRE's. A little more fab work, but I bet it would be bullet proof.

Which 35's did you go with again? How much lift do you think you'll get from those 63's?

63s vary depending on the condition of the spring, as a general rule the lowest you can get them is around 3" and the highest is about 7" by playing with the shackles.

I need to get the tires from Boom this week & have them mounted & balanced, but the next $100 I get to spend on the creampuff, will be for the 3/4" heims. I'm sold on doing it. I already have some 1" DOM to make the adjuster sleeves.

Heim steering dosn't use an adjuster sleeve. You simply thread more or less of the heim into the tubing insert, I highly recommend buying the inserts as I think machining/threading them would be a bitch and a half.

Looks like the 3/4" set comes with the tubing insert, however, as far as it being too much of a pain in the ass goes......Pppffsssss.

I wonder what the alignment shop is going to say when I pull it in the with heim joint steering on my truck?

Its just one of those parts that for it's cost is not worth trying to make just buy some and be done with it.

They will prolly looks at you with a strange look on their face then give some other lame excuse as to why they can't work on it.

Check out the pic in that link, that is what you are talking about right? The piece on the end on the heim.

Yup thats it, threaded insert. Might wanna call them to verify that it actually comes with that. Some other things you'll need to address, the holes in your spindles are tapered, grade 8 bolts are not. You're gonna have to ream the holes out so that you can put a standard bolt in there. And while I'm not positive you may need the high misalignment spacers as well but I don't really know prolly one of those things you'll have to try without first then get some if it doen't work as planned.

Just take it in beforehand and get it aligned, then pull those components and measure them and build to those specs. In the future just adjust back to spec. Besides, its gonna be a trail rig so its need to be 100% in alignment probably isn't as great as a daily driver.

It comes with misalignment spacers, don't know if they are high or not, but I know where to score some weed if they aren't. Probably going to either drill the hole in the spindles strait or machine some custom tapered bolts, depending on the size of the thru hole on the supplied misalignment spacers.

This is actually a good reason against this mod. Truth be told I really want to tag & inspect it. I am VERY TIRED of towing it everywhere, especially 10 miles to BVORR, it just doesn't seem worth the effort. Also being able to drive it on the street would help me resolve some of the reliability & driveablitiy issues. I really don't want to have to align it myself.

I should ad that I was told by some dipshit at NTB the it was not possible to align as is. It is waaay out of alignment & my steering is awful. It has toe problems & my front tires are fighting each other.

Sounds like a good excuse to just do the whole Blazeland LT and upgrade your steering. :)

Once the tierods are built then the only thing that could still be problematic would be the cambolts, could be stuck/worn/fucked up in general. This is all provided you idler arm is still in good working order (not bent with bushing still good). After than the next steering item to check is the pitman arm(highly unlikely this is bent or failed in some way). If all else fails then maybe the frame is bent?

I was looking at the TRE's last night & I am not sure the heims will even work. The factory set-up is not a strait shot, the inner TRE shaft is bent to clear the pitman & idler arms. I cannot find a single perrson who has done heims on an IFS truck. I have read on pirate, yotatech, TTORA ect & have found several threads that all end up the same, with OE replacement TRE's.

Follow the link & check out the OE inner TRE, I need to find a way to make that bend before the adjuster sleeve.
