Lol, no reasonable amount of armor would have prevented any of that damage

Yeah, just fucking with you. After the one incident with the tree, I want to protect the truck as much as possible.

Catching up on posting pics

These are from Friday, the new mount vs. the old one. You can tell how bad the rubber is sagging on the old one. Installing this raised the case 3/8".

Old mount was completely torn on one side.

Todd welded up the crack in my exhaust for me and I got it reinstalled with new gaskets ect. It's ready to head to the exhaust shop once I get it driveable again.

Not much to see here but the new diffs are in, and of course I hit them heavy with some flat black Rustoleum.

Also since they where already out I scrapped most of the junk off of the drive shafts and took them both to the car wash for a good degreasing. Painted them up and greased the hell out of them.

I wish it was that simple. I totally fucked up the shifter linkage bracket when I did the BL (should have followed the instructions because it clearly says to disconnect it). The shifter does not work at all. I though about blocking the wheels and getting under it and manually putting it in drive, but that might not be the best idea. I hope the new bracket I bought will be here tomorrow, but it could very well be Tuesday. FML, one of those dumb ass moments. I really want to drive it with the new gears:(

Fuel level sending unit and more importantly the shifter linkage bracket both showed up on UPS this morning. Both parts obviously look used but that's OK. The fuel sending unit is going to need some work. I'm not very happy about it. I asked for a 3 wire an it has the 3 wire connector spliced onto a 2 wire sending unit? I pulled off the electrical tape and the wires are just twisted together, no connector or soldiering? The 3rd wire is not connected to anything! The 3rd wire is for the low fuel light. As hard as these are to come by I guess I will just solider and shrink wrap the 2 wires together and install it so the gauge will work, I can live with the low fuel light not working but it still pisses me off. O'well right? At least I can hook up all of the shifter linkage and be driving this thing again soon.

Hopefully that will happen tonight, still need to put the drive shafts back in and it would be silly of me to put gas back in the tank without installing the sending unit first. Should be doable, but the first drive might be LATE tonight.

I am noticing a Theme here.. clean, degrease, paint black.. Pretty sad when the parts you pull off are cleaner and prettier than the ones you are putting on. :D

Thanks Thomas.

Well guys, I worked my butt off tonight to get a test drive in but the son of a bitch would not start. Fuckin Bitch. I dicked with it for a few hours and got it running by jumping wires from the battery to the starter. For what ever reason I have no signal from the ignition switch to the starter. Fuckin Bitch. I can't figure out what the hell the problem is, but I'm sure I'll get it nailed down soon.

I did drive it around the block a few times once I got it running and the gear swap made a HUGE difference, It's almost unreal

The gas gauge works great.

I'm still going to bed mad........as soon as I finish this bowl of mac and cheese.

That sucks man. You think you pulled some wires loose durring the Body Lift or Drive Traine Lift?

It's likely.

No signal between the ignition switch and starter means only a few things. Bad wire, neutral (or park) safety switch, or it is just a coincidence and my ignition switch just gave up. I don't believe in coincidences so more than likely it's a pulled wire some fucking where. I've checked all the easy shit already, it ran great once I got it started.

we did crank it after we did the BL and it started right up, I bet its the neutral switch or something.

I don't remember cranking it after we did the BL? In fact I am pretty sure we didn't becuase of the motor mount spacers and t-case not being secure. Maybe I am worong. I was just reminded of another major ground that I could of broken so I am going to check that first. N-saftey switch I am not sure about. I checked it the best I could and it seemed fine, also I am trying to figure out if it would start and runn with the starter relay jumped if it was the problem

I didn't drive it much since it was after midnight but I got it up to 60 quick and easy. It was a big difference.

Tommy want wingy..
Gears are by far the best thing I have done to my truck so far. Just need to make sure and verify your speed (GPS) and watch your RPM's.
