The floor on my 4th gen would get warm on the edge of the passenger floor. That was where the exhaust banks merged. Pretty sure the thin heatshield was gone underneath but never got around to looking or dealing with it before selling.I have been wanting to do that to my Tacoma along with some thermal insulation around the transmission tunnel. It's surprising how warm the carpet around the transmission gets with just easy cruising around town.

The whole passenger floor and the whole trans tunnel gets warm in mine. The cupholders keep coffee warm for a while, haha. I took a road trip with a small cooler on the passenger floor so I could reach snacks and drinks while driving….the ice melted so fast. What material do you guys recommend for sound and then what for heat?I’ve got about 4-5 layers on the doors of the Taco. Floor only has one layer. Someday I’d like to pull the carpet and add a few more layers. My doors sound like you are tapping on a 6x6 post.
Not sure about heat, but for sound i have stuff off Amazon made by Siless and Fat Mat.The whole passenger floor and the whole trans tunnel gets warm in mine. It's a lot of work, time, and money; so if you don't want to put money into the truck, then don't consider soundproofing it.Cool thanks for the recommendations. I’ll probably end up with a lot of that stuff. I want to do the Tacoma, the lady’s Civic, and maybe the Tundra, but I don’t really like to put money into that truck so we’ll see about that.
One of the doors that got repaired after it was damaged doesn’t sound like the other 3 doors and that bothers me a little bit. It sounds hollow when it closesIt's a lot of work, time, and money; so if you don't want to put money into the truck, then don't consider soundproofing it.
Oh I was under the assumption you were going to sound deaden the whole truck. One of the doors that got repaired after it was damaged doesn’t sound like the other 3 doors and that bothers me a little bit. It sounds hollow when it closes
Would kind of depend on how motivated I am at that present time and how much extra material I haveOh I was under the assumption you were going to sound deaden the whole truck.
