RIP old friends. You made it through hundreds of garage projects, river and oversea trips and running around the yard with my nieces & nephews. You will be sorely missed. :"In the arms of an Angel" slowly fades in: :(lol They lasted damn near a decade of heavy use.

I had a pair of those with small flasks in each sole. They were funny until they cracked and squeaked all the time! lol

I wish I could find a set like that that doesn't go through the toe and would last that long. My Jesus Christ superstar sandals (Birkenstock's) don't like getting wet, but last forever. Tried a pair of Chacos and they lasted 3 river trips. Maybe Ill go back to the good ol Teva's that I used to wear at the marina when I was a teen. They lasted long, but looked ghey....wait they all look ghey..... lol

I can't stand sandals that go through the toe. These have enough padding on them that I don't really feel it to be honest. I walked around for probably 5 mins in the garage yesterday before realizing the middle toe strap broke out lol

What kind of seat covers did you go with?
Wet Okoles. I had em before and wore em out. I gave the old ones to @thekidcatcher since they were in better condition then the ones he currently had lol

But for the price they charge for em nowadays, I'd go leather before I bought these if I had a new vehicle. My driver's side seat foam is going out, so I figured that the leather would only accelerate that wear. Whereas the Wet Okoles have additional padding so it'd help slow that wear down. The extra padding also makes you sit higher in the truck which is much better. That extra 1/2-1" of padding makes a world of difference.

My driver seat in my 3rd gen is showing the abuse of daily use on the leather. I keep debating getting the seats upholstered in a different type of material. Leather is cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

Yeah I'd just get the driverside fixed and leave the rest if you have leather already. Getting the drivers side seat reupholstered is just part of owning leather seats.

I need my drivers side on the Taco redone. Leather has split. I put a patch on it and am debating just buying some nice seatcovers.. Carhardt material ones or something.

I ordered a new steering shaft sub assembly with the U-joint to replace mine.

New steering shaft installed and installed new Poly bushings on my steering rack. I'll finish installing the new inners and outer tie rods tomorrow as well as another wheel bearing for the driverside.

All of my front end components were WORE out or siezed up. Started at 11AM and called it a day at 7:30PM.

Front suspension rebuild took about 13 hours total. I did other little misc. stuff along with it.

New OEM inner & outer tie rods.
New intermediate steering shaft.
New steering rack bushings.
Drained and refilled power steering reservoir with Mobile One ATF Dextron III fluid.

Truck drives like it is brand new now. Amazing amount of difference for little cost and a lot of labor. I'd say the steering rack is definitely a job for a car lift as it would've made my life a lot easier and I know I would've finished sooner

Edit: forgot to add that you cannot do this job without a pickle fork. I rented a set from Vatozone for free.

Getting ready to do a lot of the same to the GX in the next few months. Along with LCAs and u-joints. And I have to replace my power steering reservoir so I'll be flushing the system at the same time.

Took the truck into the dealership to get some stuff done. Had them look at my driveshaft for replacement/repair which they denied it needing. No surprise there...Also got them to replace the valve cover seals as both of mine were leaking pretty steadily. Wanted to do them myself but I have to be realistic and realize that I don't have the time anymore to take care of stuff like this. Also the wife wants to go on some weekend getaway camping trips this year so I wanted to have the truck ready for those weekends.

When the local stealership did my driveshaft repair they only replaced the u joints. They said the carrier bearing was not part of the driveshaft issues. If you find a better dealer you should be okay.

Yeah mine is squealing like a MOFO at low speeds now but since I have a long bed, my shaft is longer (we all know this :p) so I have an additional bearing in the larger shaft that's going out. I've had it replaced by a shop before and that bearing isn't covered by this warranty apparently.
