Ordered two new hub assemblies since I'm about to have to use my spare on my driver's side.
Also ordered two new CV axle dust seals since I'm sure mine are shot by now. Part # 90304-A0001. I still have two spindle hub seals lying around somewhere...time to find em.

Do you have any contact info for people within Raco (not a distributor)? Either Raco or my distributor are screwing up my 7 story job and Ive got to get to the bottom of it. They back ordered my sidelite head and jambs + my shallow door pocket filler for over 200 openings. My issue is they can't give me a lead time for the back ordered materials after telling me my order would ship complete on two occasions in writing. Ive already caught the distributor in three lies and am ready to throw him under a bus then back over him. Right nwo I;m looking at $1,200 per day liquidated damages and Raco or my distributor is about to feel my wrath. Already got the production managers phone number and e-mail, but he's being a bitch and will not return my calls or e-mails. Next step is fining out who the CEO or plant manager is and talking to them.

No unfortunately I don't have any contacts within the company since I always go through a distributor. Might be time to get your companies lawyer involved. The sooner the better.

Well watch your rear if you have any upcoming jobs. Distributor tells me 4 weeks lead time when I placed my order (2 weeks better than quoted). Now we are on week 7 and he has no idea when the stuff will even be extruded.

Always appreciate your heads up. Thanks, I will keep this in mind!

It's gotten so bad our comany's lawyer is now copied onto all my correspondence with Raco. Once this job is done Ill make it my goal in life to blast Raco on every social media site I can find. Also going to contact all the architects I have worked with over the past 20 years and tell them to never write them into any of their specs. I am super spiteful when I get screwed over so these guys have no idea how long Ill be a ghost in their closet.

It's gotten so bad my boss is considering sending me down by plane to their office so I can get some answers. I also found out that the extruder that can't tell them when our material will be pushed is their parent company that bought them out when they went bankrupt the last time for doing shit like this to customers. I would of thought they change their ways after being bought out, but their recent actions lead me to believe it's the same crappy company with a new shiny wrapper.

Yeah hop on that plane, document everything that you had to fly down there and see what they say. Wonder if your lawyer needs to fly down with you?

I would +1 the lawyer. Plus it is one hell of a walk in complaint when you bring the lawyer.

Someone must of prayed because miracles just happened.

My e-mail this morning:

Scott,

The total lack of any response on Raco’s part is blowing this situation out of proportions and creating panic. Please supply us with an approximate ship date for our backordered/late materials. You have multiple calls and e-mails that have received no response and this cannot be. Raco’s production manager Glen also has the same.

We were told the metal would of shipped Friday the 10th complete and that Raco just needed to miter the metal. We told Raco to hold the order and ship it complete. We were provided false info and Raco knew at this point our order would not ship and was not ready and none of our material was even in their possession.

We were then told due to power outage our order would not ship complete until Tuesday because Raco had no power to get a bill of lading worked up. We know the shippers have carbon copies and this could have been shipped complete as we were told it would be. Again we were provided false information by Raco because the metal was not ready nor was it even in their possession.

Wednesday we were given no update because we were told your CSR had gone home early. We are pretty certain the Raco’s shipping manager could of provided you with this info, but it was false because without metal there was no way to ship it complete.

Thursday we are blindsided and told 50% of our metal would not ship for the sidelites. That was 4 business days ago and Raco has not responded since. Everyone makes mistakes, but it’s how a company handles them that either makes them good or bad. Ignoring your customers after repeatedly giving them false information then creating a panic by not responding is not good. We need answers so we can figure out our next moves.

Our order should of shipped complete at the latest on August 10th. Now it’s August 21st and no one at Raco knows what’s going on, when we will get our order, or simply refuses to pass this info on if they do.

We need answers and will continue to try and get them by any means possible.

Sincerely,

Oswego, Project Manager

Scot my distributor has yet to reply to any of my e-mails but he did just put in writing in a separate e-mail our metal is being loaded on a plane now and will be delivered tomorrow. I told him I wished he could of just communicated that with us so we weren't in panic mode. I was happy I just had to call the building owner/general contractor/my boss and tell them the good news. I feel like I just had a massage w/happy ending so much stress just got taken off my table.

I've been in it too many times before. So I know how your relief feels lol I'm currently dealing with this trying to procure cabinet locks (but I don't have a monetary penalty like you do). So make sure this email gets to the executives at Raco as well. Not communicating like this is unacceptable in the construction field.

lol @Anathollo How is this build coming along?
It's not. lol Too damn hot outside but thanks for asking.

But here's a quicklist of stuff I need to get done:
1. Change out both wheel bearings, CV outer seals and Knuckle seals.
2. Fix winch control.
3. Install Rigid backup lights.
4. Install bottle opener on rear bumper.
5. Install new brake hard line on driver's side.
6. Install new brake cylinders on rear drums.
7. Install new Transmission cooler.
8. Install new Thermostat and Radiator.
9. Install Front and Rear cameras.
10. Wash, wax and detail truck. (I think it's been two-three years since it's been waxed. It's time before the paint starts peeling off).
11. Modify Pelfreybilt transmission skid so it stops flexing like a coke can and actually do it's job.
12. Recharge A/C system.

There's probably more I'm missing on here. That's just what I can think of off the top of my head.

I think the guy was laughing at me while I'm having heart palpitations. As soon as I copied the production manager on the above e-mail I got an almost instant answer. Was the first time I called them out for providing inaccurate info.

Hard to do. I might need the same guy's help 6 months from now. Ill do everything in my power to avoid that vendor in the future, but like on this job - they are the only company who could do 7 floors of custom painted materials that would accept the glass thickness we needed. All their competitors use 3/8" thick glass that doesn't meet international building code if it's taller than 7'. Most people in my position don't even know that let alone the companies producing it so they make systems then install glass all over that's technically not fit to be used. I'm one of 6 people in the US currently re-writing the new standards for glass door and sidelite codes so I can never claim ignorance like they can and sometimes knowledge sucks lol
