Hello all!

I've been lurking for a bit and finally decided to jump in. Bakerla is a friend of mine and I have been to one of y'alls events. It was a blast and everyone I met seemed really cool. I hope to meet more of you and get involved in some of the meets. My '95 4runner is only 2WD so I know it will never be king of the trail, but I hope to do some mods to make it good at the beach and on some of the lighter trails.

It's an '86 full size... and therefore gets no respect (and laughed at). I just got a good deal on it (traded a crap motorcycle for it). Now if anyone knows of someone willing to swap a 4x4 yota for it, I'm all kinds of interested.... but not very optimistic.

might be someone on a site called SA Offroad.com There a bunch of dumb asses who love to talk shit about Toyotas, but never do any offroading besides driving through some mud.

If your 4Runner manual or automatic? I might know somewhere that you could bet a 4wd manual transmission and t-case for cheap

Unfortunately it has the 3.slo with an automatic. I actually think I bought the worst combination of 4runner for offroading. With the lack of power, I'm afraid to even put on a brand new set of 31x10.5x15's I've got. It will eventually get there though.

3.slo isn't that bad, it just needs some extra care...check out Drew's build, if you want to romp the beach you should LT that hoe

Check CL and Yotatech and TTORA... your lucky cause you only need to regear one diff and they're pretty easy and cheap to find

I have looked at Drew's runner. It is a beast. I am defenitely envious of it. I'll have to start looking for a diff... and I suppose while I'm in there, I probably aught to put in some sort of locker as well. That way I'm not running around all peg legged all the time.

There's a few guys here on the forum that will probably be selling auto lockers soon. They're selling because they haven't had the best of luck, but everyone's application is different and there are plenty of people using them without issue.
