Dates changed: 9/28-10/2

I'm planning on hitting up Big Bend to explore and hopefully photograph the Milky Way. A new moon falls on the 30th & the sky should be as bright as it can be...

Anyone interested in some early fall camping and exploring?

Brother is getting married on the 24th... I won't be able to make it. Reserve campsites now. Gualle 2 at BBRSP is amazing... bring several jerry cans. Are you planning to go to the ranch or the national park?

I was about to type this. ^^ I am more partial to Los Ojitas because it is central to the whole park making it easier to explore the park. Plus if we are taking women it is minutes away from the flushing facilities. It is far enough off the road to be dark and quiet though.

I would be more inclined to make the trip if it is travel + 4 days. Megan said she would go back. I would prefer BBRSP over the National Park; less people.

I checked the weather; it should be mid 90s during the day and mid 60s at night.

I'm out. I am cashing in points with my wife that I have not even accumulated yet for my trip next week.

Bring extra fuel and I would try to stay at a centrally located site if I planned to explore the park. I would try to stay at Gualle 2 one night.

I'll add a day if the GF can't get time off. Not worried about the 10hr drive - used to drive to URE on a Friday & back on Sunday...

Next trip will be further South to Del Rio & Amistad...

Let me know about fishing down there. I have a connection on falcon. A co-worker has family that lives down there and are pulling out 10 pound bass very often.

Four days at the park is fine with me; it gives me one day travel, four at the park, and a day travel back. I just need to see if I can talk my boss into more time off again.

I will have my sandwich maker see what time she can get off and check back with you from there. If I can get out there I would really like to do the Trail to Nowhere. It looked like a really good view without much traffic.

I love that place and wish I could go. We have been there twice in the past year and we are going back in Nov. As much as I hate GPS the things are useful sometimes. We drove out to Casa Ramon in March GPS didn't help much and the better paper maps aren't up to date.

@SecretSquirrel sorry I couldn't talk for long yesterday. Just got out of a meeting and then was about to head into another quick one before I could leave for the day.

I'm out for these dates. :( Moab & Colorado used up a lot of my vacation days and I have to use the rest for a wedding I'm in up north and to go back to Colorado to see my new nephew in a couple of weeks :).

Sounds like an awesome trip though!

Will confirm time off with my boss today or tomorrow and let you know. My sandwich maker is all for it.
