Cab Mount Chop Questions

Hey so i am going to do the cab mount chop on my tacoma today, looking for any insight or pictures that would be helpful, so far i am using "broker's" thread to use as my model for where to cut etc.. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok - I've done some searching here and Google. The only reasons I can find for chopping the cab mounts is for tire clearance- correct? or am I missing something here?

Correct. 2nd gens and FJs have a cab mount that gets in the way (for some) when running larger tires. I don't remember it being an issue on 1st gens

Ok. Thanks for clarifying that. I went out and checked mine and didn't see it being an issue for me. It would be really useful if there was a thread that was locked from general comments that was just one long list of suggested mods per vehicle type. It would probably cut down on some of the repetitive questions and help people know what they would most likely need to do to reach a certain build level. Just a suggestion.

Ok - I figured with all the tips/tricks these guys know they might be able to do a list of their own. But we can link to another place if need be. Pirate is starting to have a lot of dead links though. Plus a lot of that info is Tacoma based... what about us 4Runner guys?
