You were ahead of us then. We started at Lazy L&L around 1:00...

If you looked up along the river, you'd have seen my truck :) drunkard...

Picked up a small Pelican Elite 20 qt cooler. Man I love this thing. Got the tan version. Lifetime warranty, made in the USA. The color and texture are not as nice as the Yeti.. its more utilitarian looking IMO.. more like a toolbox of sorts. But I really like the latches and the locking plate in the middle also has a built in bottle opener. So far its working awesome. Put 16 lbs of ice in it yesterday morning and its been outside ever since, there is hardly any water in the bottom of the cooler. I've moved about a case of beer through it as well... kept a 12 pack cold yesterday and now its keeping another 12 pack cold. Its not cheap, but I won't be buying another small cooler... ever.

lol. The steel plate is nice, if they want it then they are stealing it with a battery powered grinder. You can lock it to the truck.

Also, update on the ice in the Pelican. I dumped it out this morning. Without anything to take up the airspace in the cooler the ice was almost gone. But there was still a little bit in it and the water was still very cold. Not bad for a small cooler. I know my 16qt Igloo only keeps ice for about 15 hours it seems.

I bought a Frio Ice Chest last month & am happy with it. To your comment, make block ice and double your ice-keep. I've got a small 6-pack cooler that I make blocks in & the cooler holds for around 5 days

Frio!! Thats the other company I wanted to look at... I couldn't remember at all.

I totally agree about block ice. I just bought 2 8 lbs bags when I was buying beer. Not the best by any means.. but a pretty good indicator as to how it will fair.

Good idea. We freeze thick wall plastic containers and use those as block ice.

Old OJ box works well for ice blocks. You can kept the in the box or cut the box away. Or you can just plug in the fidge freeze. :)

Amen to the plug it in! :)

I do like the OJ box idea though.
