Ok, re-read what you wrote, my bad, the awnings, not the FoxWings. Yeah, I didn't even look at those. If I was going with a straight awning I was going with a CVT Summit series awning to match the RTT. Not saying they are bad but they are not even in consideration.

Yeah I meant the awning not the foxwing. I’ll wait till I can see one the foxwings first hand. I need to look at how they mount to a roof rack. The shape and height of my roof rack really limits what and how things get mounted to the sides of it. It’s maybe a half an inch off the roof of the FJ and follows the contour of the roofline. Hence my use of a tarp tent if and when I want shade.

Only thing I got going on Sunday is dropping the little on off at camp and then going out to brunch at 11:30. Home by 1:00-1:30.

Well I will be heading down tomorrow to get them at 1:00. I was going to drive the 81 since it has a 7+ foot long bed but its supposed to be over 100 degrees and with no AC.. fuck that. I'll tie them into the tiny Taco bed.

We have awnings! 2 gray, one tan. Also picked up an "adventure case" in gray.

I installed it in about 5 minutes, however I need to readjust where it "lands" over the trailer... I need it to come forward a couple inches and sliding those bolts through teh aluminun C channel is a PITA. SO it might just come all the way back off and get a second person to assist.

Adventure case is nice, a little $$ for what it really is.. but its nice. Not as heavy as a Pelican case.

Well I got it adjusted easy enough... not that hard really. Anyhow, now to just cut the extensions down so its not sticking out 12".

You know some pics of the mounting hardware would be pretty cool. Looks like I will have to do the write up.

It didn’t come with much hardware. 8 stainless bolts (4 long, 4 short) with nylock nuts. I grabbed 4 more standard bolts of the same size so I used 8. It mounts in minutes.

I cut down my extensions but I need to cut them back a little more and then weld the extension to the support tube. I will also need to do some mods to the way the tent keeps the window open on this side. The spring bars will not be able to connect in there normal location in the tent base. I’ll figure something out.

I'm supposed to have a buyer for our old RV show up tomorrow, yeah nothing like working in heat index of a 111 getting this camper together and cleaning out things. All I have left to do is replace the propane tank line.

Yeah I thought about that, but a $20 part might be easier to replace than having a liability, even if it's sold as is... people sue over stupid things all the time.

True that.
