Oh yeah, the rear is not Lincoln locked according to my buddy, and it only does the tire chirping in 4wheel.
ThoughtS?

When it comes time to do the gears we can hash this out....lol

Right now I just need to get it trail ready, I put it on the lift after a major pressurewashing and chanced the gear oil front/rear, regreased everything and hit most of the underside with black paint.
I only found one spot that was rusted threw and it's small, will be getting fixed when i weld on the chevy spring hangers, I'm also ditching the rusted cross member that the spare hung from and replacing it with some 6" flat stock.

When you remove that x-member be sure you put the fame in some kind of jig to keep it from moving, that x-member is one of the main members keeping the frame straight if removed with out support the frame can twist leading to a whole crop of issues from not having a straight frame.

Yep being in 4wheel will make the tires chirp, go put your taco in 4wheel and turn a circle in the parking lot and it will do the same thing. But I would still pull the rear third and have a looksy at it. You just never know when chipped teeth can bite you in the ass (ask me how I know)

I think they would work better then doubling shackles in the rear.

Just 4 link the rear and you can remove the rest of that overhanging frame. :)

Well you might know more about the sissies, but I know you don't have to have an unlimited budget to do one.

Its definitely more $$, but you also get more flex. If he is having issues mounting up leafs because the frame is too short, a link setup is an option.

Kieth just isn't thinking outside the box, place rear hangers at end of frame, place forward hanger approprately for decent shackle angle, install rear axle and measure for either driveshaft shortening/lengthening. Remove existing bump stops and discard fab new ones placed just so that the spring is flat or very small neg arch when on the bump. From there adjust shackle length for adjustments in ride height.

I wonder if doing Boomerang/ Banana shackles would give you enough room to fit those 63" Chevy's in the rear?

Negative sir, spring mounts need to be moved it's just too much length for a shackle to make up for. You're going from a spring 48" in length to a spring that is 63" in length.

I'm going with the kit from Sky, only thing I will have to do is relocate the front spring mount and the 63's will work just fine.
I would love to link it one day, but for now I'll keep it simple and concentrate on the driveline first. Would love to put in crawlbox etc.

Damn it Randy you are doing it again.

well I adjusted the carb yesterday and set it back to "Factory" specs, it's running better now but is still getting the white smoke with alot of throttle. I'm going to clean it the best I can today without pulling it.
