Free Parks Access for Veterans

Veterans with proper documentation showing a permanent rated disability (pretty much a statement of benefits from the VA) now qualify for a free Lifetime Access pass to more than 2,000 parks and recreational areas across the US. The benefits for each park vary depending on which agency operates the park but it covers a lot of the lakes and public access areas operated by the federal government.

Nice. Every time my better half sees those signs, she always wants me to show them my Merchant Marines ID.

Then she says that I spent my time in the Gulf (of Mexico). She clearly does not understand the cause but she always likes a bargain!

Hey; the Gulf is where a lot of the Coasties stay and they qualify! If they can get it I do not see why somebody who actually worked should not too.
