No but in the first episode he says he is 6'5".. in reality he is 6'2". Hollyweird.. kinda like WWE. He is 6'10".. ok he is 6'5".. still a big fucker.
Never read the books but the Reached series is good enough for background sound with some laughs. The "actong" is a reach for some of the characters.
In the books, the fact that Reacher is 6'-5" and insanely strong are key character traits. So that's why they made a big deal out of it in this movie. In the books, Reacher kills more people with his hands than guns because he's so freakishly strong.
If you could combine Tom Cruises intensity with Alan Ritchson's body then you would be close to how Reacher is portrayed in the books.
They also moved Reacher up a generation. Reacher was wounded in the Marine barracks explosion in Lebanon so he never served in Afghanistan. That medal he was carrying around actually belonged to his mother because she was a French operative who killed a lot of Germans in the streets of Paris during WW2 (he found out after she died IIRC).

Also finished Reacher last night. I never read the books and could never stand Tom Cruise enough to watch the Pint Size Reach. Overall this series was good enough I finished it; but the cop was a big reason.
