It would give them a chance for a real "awakening the badass" episode. He ditches the "shadow figure" he has been and goes reminds Vader who he is. But that would mess with the original trilogy storyline of the old man who had not heard or picked up a lightsaber in a long time. I mean, ten years is a long time but not long-long time.
