Have you looked at the Savage .338's? Actually pretty affordable for what you get...

Savage has really stepped up their product in the last 5 years. The aftermarket support is there now for them too.

Yep! Although I'd get a Tikka before I purchased a Savage. But the Savage .338 is more than enough for civilian applications.

I have a friend and my ex BIL both have the Savage BA110 in .338. Pops targets at 1000 yards without even breathing heavy.

This is the thing that makes a lot of my gun conversations interesting with people. I have to make sure we are talking about the intended purposes.

I mean sure... I could recommend an Accuracy International or a Desert Tech but a normal civilian would never get the full potential out of that gun for what it cost (PRS and ELR guys are excluded from this of course).
