Got this portable shooting bench on Friday and tested it out on Saturday. I like it. Its all metal with plastic bench and shooting surface. Its a little slick so I probably need to throw down a mat of some sort, but for the money I like it. Easy to fold out and lightweight. Seat is not adjustable in height but that didn't seem to be an issue. It also swings left or right so you can adjust easy enough. I paid $103 via Prime for it, its went up to $129 on the page I open now.. not sure how. So I got a late Christmas present to myself. In all my recent reevaluations of my rifles I decided to finally do some long overdue upgrades to my Remington 700. I have always liked the modular chassis setups but the price tags have steep. I found a way to make it happen and was about to order the MDT LSS-XL Gen 2 stock when I decided to check eBay just in case. Thankfully I did; I found a new in box stock for $465 with free shipping (saving me $100). The stock did not fit the caliber the guy wanted to use it for so he relisted it just to sell it. Now I just have to wait on USPS to get it to me on Thursday or Friday.

So I am going to run an AR15 skeleton stock on it for a while to make sure I want it long term like that. Since the stock is setup for a fixed interface butt stock I have lots of good options later on. I do plan on getting the folding stock adapter later on so as to make the rifle more compact for storage and hiking as needed. I guess a nice glass upgrade is next.

Stock has MLock attachment points all along the front handguard area, takes AICS compatable magazines, has ambi mag release built in, and is setup to run AR15 grips and butt stocks. Most importantly it will let me keep my barrel profile at 1.20" from chamber to crown.

Thanks. I was nervous it was an eBay scam until he messaged me the backstory. Seems he and I frequent a few of the same long range forums as well. Maybe we need a TOR 2Amendment weekend this summer/fall. I wonder if we could rent the range at HF for a day or two for a group.

Looking over the rules/ costs for the Copperhead Range it might be better to rent Tiger Valley outside of Waco.

Or another range outside the Austin area.

I was sorta wheeling yesterday. Backside of the creek is lower than the surrounding fields and it was stupid wet. It looked like grass but was just mush. So on a side hill the truck just wanted to slide sideways. Not bad and at no time was I in danger but it was fun. Reminds me that I hate mud though.

I saw comments that there are a few ranges in the Ozark National Forest. I thought it would be kind of cool to have some range time up there the next time we go up there.

Yep you can camp for $25 a weekend or have trailer hookups for $40 for a weekend. We brought my buddies 40' trailer there.

I just ordered 40 rounds of 450 BM. Damn stuff is not cheap but its cheaper online. $56 for 40 rounds of the "cheap stuff".

Got my RTIC 43" hard case today. I really like it. Its got several layers of solid foam inside so I'll need to cut it out for the shape of the weapon.
