Friend of mine uses the Pulsar XP38 with lots of success. He is sponsored by them so he gets a bit of a discount on them; but he was using their hardware before he was sponsored. I know that kind of hardware is on my wish list for purchase at some point.

Any thoughts on a good Thermal scope?

Seems the Flir 233 has some good features for the price. ATN reviews are kind of wishy washy.

ATN is trash. Flir owns ATN now however. My coworker is looking at the Flir 538 right now but really he should just spend an another grand and get the Pulsar XP50.

But the main thing to remember is there is no cheap Thermal scopes right now. You get what you pay for. I talk to so many people about thermal scopes that just can't seem to understand that.

I was pissed but thought, I'm "supporting" a local biz and it's a work tool that will be replaced in 10 years. The guy that I picked it up from said, "At least it's not Open Carry." WTF?

Then last night, I thought I would see what they look like at night... Fuck! Really? Not only did he blow the warranty, he blew one of the Tridium capsules.

PRP trigger is installed. Still has a lot more pre-travel than I was hoping for but feels great in every other aspect. Going to take it with me tomorrow to Dublin and test fire between hunts.

Yeah they have more than I'd like but they also break in over time and get better. So shoot a couple of thousands of rounds through it and it'll feel that much better (you'll also need to replace your recoil spring too bc Springfield uses shit springs).

Shot it this afternoon between hunts. This is the best money I've ever spent on a gun. The tape and trigger both improved the pistol 10x over the factory. The trigger is so smooth and light, I didnt even notice the pretravel like I thought I would. Hopefully Taylor likes it. If not, I'll still keep it around. Its just too damn accurate for what it is. Hell, it out shoots my HK and now it feels better too. If the tape does start wearing off, which I have a feeling it will, I'll have a local guy do an aggressive stipple on the gun. The tape was just a trial anyway to see if I liked the more aggressive texture.

What do you suggest for a recoil spring? I've never really modified a pistol before so I'm not sure what to look for. What makes the factory ones shit?

Just run that one until it goes out. And I used the one that the PRP guy recommended (great customer service from him). But on my .45 XDM, the stock spring lasted about ~2k rounds.

Glad the trigger worked out! I love my aftermarket triggers.

I am looking to start carrying. I am not a huge fan of stuff in my pockets so that has been a mental set back on me doing so sooner. I dont really have a great carry gun now so need to fix that.
My plan is to pick up a Glock 43 in the next week or 2, add a Taran Tactical +2 magazine extension, and a T Rex sidecar holster.

Nope, great choices all around. Have you looked at the Glock 43X yet? Supposedly there is a company coming out with a 15rd mag for it.

Its already out. I shot my brothers 43 and really liked it. I have a compact 9mm that holds 12 but wanted a sub compact pistol with a slimmer frame.
I may skip the side car holster and just carry the pistol with the +2 in one of their pistol only holsters.

XD compact 13rds, 2nd clip makes it full size with 19rds.

highly unlikely you will be involved in a self defense situation that uses more than 7 rounds.

Everyone loves the P365 from what I've seen.

I would go with the G43 for me bc it's a simpler pistol design, I'm used to the Glock ergonomics and the bore is lower (I hate high bore pistols).

Also, Sig needs to get their quality control together. Too many fit and finish issues across the board with all their weapons they make right now.

I am an old school Sig fan - P2xx series or their 1911. You should check out the xD compacts and the Springfield Hellcat.

Shot a 365 several times now. Going to switch to either a 365 or 365xl for my carry gun. They shoot and point well for me. Plus they hold a ton more ammo than the 43. The 365 I believe is the same size as the 43 and has a flush fit 10 round mag and the 43 is a 6 if I’m not mistaken

You are correct on the magazine size. 6 goes very quick but that is why I am looking at the Teran Tactical +2 extender.
