It's between 308 and 300WM. No reason for one or the other. Just leaning toward 300WM for some reason. And well, you know why I'm getting the 700

I would take a .308 hands down over .30-06, especially for reloading. It's a WAY more efficient cartridge in a smaller package

Also, I had a .204 AR and it was bad ass (24" stainless barrel)... that is all

I would go .308 more often than not for any hunting around here. It is cheaper to shoot, reload, and easier to shoot extended range sessions.

AFAIK the 700 5R is only available in .308 and 300WM

I went to there Las Vegas shop last time I was there. They had some badass custom stuff. I got talking with what I guess it the head guy there and he gave us a hour long tour of the shop and the little test range. I shot the 50 Alaska into the test range pretty crazy stuff. The guns they make are top of the line. I think I'm going to send off a Marlin 30-30 to them to have their rail put on and have them cut the barrel down and thread it.

Traded the 7mm in on a Marlin 336Y Dam this thing is short! Order a XS rail for it and getting it set up to run the suppressor. Should be a good looking and shooting gun.

I picked up my 300 Blackout today. We shot a wide variety of hand loads through it. I need to do some work on my sub loads but they were pretty damn quiet. I'm looking forward to hitting the pig fields with it.

Current upper is one a buddy built for me. The same guy that built my .300 WM also turned the barrel for this 300 Blkout upper. I do have a Palmetto State Armory upper coming that should be here in a week or so.
