One of my friends has a LCP in the 380 and he really likes it for concealed carry on the motorcycle and such. I bet that is a great little pistol in the 9mm. Also; you're a lefty?

Pull the trigger and the 1st round goes off
2nd round gets loaded
Pull the trigger again, but it's not set
Pull the Charging handle
2nd round ejects and 3rd round goes into chamber
Pull trigger and bang like normal

afterward, inspection of 2nd round revealed a small dimple on the primer

Repeated about 10 times with the same result

Hey Drew! So the issue is just that the hammer isn't being set and is following the bolt back to the forward position. So it can either be the ammo doesn't have enough pop to push the bolt al the way back, the spring is to heavy and isn't letting the bolt come all the way back, or the locking mechanism on the hammer is jacked so it won't hold it.

With that I would say it is the ammo or spring, if you can rack it back and it locks the hammer then the locking mechanism should be fine.

I would agree except for the fact that it's ejecting the spent case and loading the next round just fine. That plus, when I manual cycle with the charging handle, the trigger resets super early in the cycle, before the round in the chamber gets ejected.

So you're saying that it is going far enough back to load a new shell which means it is definitely passing the point where it "locks" the hammer if you pull it with your hand? If that's the case then it has to be the locking mechanism not working when at full speed vs just racking it?

Yup, I think that's the ticket. I decided to contact New Frontier customer support last night. But I also went ahead and picked up a Timney trigger :)

Talk about putting lipstick on a pig! But the point of this AR is to be as light as possible. So it doesn't really bother me to have a nice ass trigger in a polymer lower :)

Heck yea man, I recommend every AR owner gets an after market trigger, makes a whole lot of difference. Have you shot it with the Timney?

No I found one on eBay last night for cheap. Free shipping from USPS means it will probably take a week to arrive, but I'll be in TN until Saturday anyway.

I had never really considered putting a single stage trigger in my ARs until I shot Gerardo's last weekend... It blew my freaking mind

Put this together this weekend for a friend, shoot it Sunday, ran flawless, stock trigger for some reason turned out very nice.

I do want a second timney for my current pistol build, but don't want to drop the $$ on one. .
