The new XD lines have much better grips than the early XD pistols. It is funny you mention the short mags getting caught; I had to learn to deal with that as well doing reload drills. Practice fixes it; but high cap magazines are an easier fix.

Well I shot my new XD today. I'm pulling hard right with it. Trigger job is needed. The XDm I am center mass. The smaller one I am pulling right. Anyhow. Kenna now loves the little Walther P22.

I hate to admit it but I really do like my XDm. It is easier to carry than my Sig 220 Compact. The capacity is higher, the gun is lighter, but my $($-#:/ lord the trigger is not comparison.

Order the PRP drop in trigger. It's AMAZEBALLS. I shoot slightly left with it(cause I'm a righty) but goddamn is it a nice trigger.

One thing about the new XD Mod2, with the "grip zone", man that texture really holds onto skin. With the extended mag when you push the mag release it does not drop out.. its stuck to the base of your palm. The guy at Cabelas was like "oh you are doing it wrong.. let me show you".. and it stuck to his hand as well. LOL But thats ok. I don't mind the shorter magazine. We'll see how it shoots. Not like I'm some match shooter who needs to exchange magazines in .03 seconds.

My old XD SA grips blow. They are hard as a rock and slippery. Glad to see they keep upgrading the line. Sadly Ill never own a new one because NJ sucks (ban on hi cap).

Get some laser cut grip tape from PRP. They are $16 for one gun and make a world of difference when you shoot.

Tell you the truth I haven't shot in over a year and the time before that was prob longer so no real need. Not very appealing to take my guns out of my house to go shoot with all the idiotic NJ laws. Technically I need to either be heading to a range (I'm a member of - which I'm not a member of any) or going to a gun smith (I have made an appointment with - don't need that either) in order to transport legally. Otherwise your basically traveling with them illegally if the gubment wanted to be pricks.

The cost to benefit ratio is worth the $16 Follow up shots are a lot faster because the griptape keeps it firm in my hand.
