I just checked; www.queensoff-road.com is available if we need to do some expanding to TOR.
Bad investment.

Because of the new law changes down the road.

I think I might I think I may I'm gonna get a 5.56 lower and register it as a SBR also, could always convert to 300BO also

The SBR can be any caliber you want as long as the overall and barrel lengths are not shorter than listed on the documents. I am waiting to pickup a 5.56 pistol upper at a cut rate deal later this year.

Holy Cow I have not heard someone reference SC in a long time. It has been a while since I trudged around there. While I do not believe people should not shoot .308; it is easy to see that ballistically the 6/6.5 calibers beat it hands down.

Precision Rifle Blog has done a survey the last few years of the most popular rounds and comparison of where they end up on the score boards. Overall it is a pretty good read for caliber, rifle setup, and glass. I still maintain that there is an inherent difference between punching holes in paper and punching holes in people.

You are def right. He maintains that this is mainly for PRS competitions and not for military use. He was just addressing the quote that people always say "the military has the best stuff and if they use it, then I should use it". Basically, if you shoot PRS comps with a .308, you'll def struggle. This guy is out of Dallas and used to have a badass .308 that he would shoot with. Then he got the 6.5CM rifle, fell in love with it and sold the .308.

The low recoil of the 6/6.5 calibers allow for crazy fast follow up shots. I always laugh when people brag about their latest piece of gear being mil-spec. If they only know how crappy some of that gear is they would never say those words again. I prefer the stuff the tier 2 operators and the PSD guys use. That is the gear that works every day all day.

Yeah, I wish someone would buy me Ar'Teryx gear :(

Yep she is right! You can mitigate recoil with the right buffer spring, tunable gas block and muzzle brake

Exactly. I always laugh when people talk about ultra lightweight firearms and excessive recoil. Mass can be a good thing.

If y'all haven't watched the Magpul Art of Precision Rifle Blue Rays, I highly recommend them. I bought them on eBay a few weeks ago. Took my first trip to the rangw since watching and now my 200 yard groups look like my 100 yard groups used to. And even did a 1 MOA group at 300 yards :)

Also, my new Vortex Viper is the shit! Loving FFP reticle.

Lastly, I went with Gerardo and Andy's recommendation of .308 175gr Federal Match King ammo. Hard to beat that kind of precision out of the box.

Federal makes some good loads right out of the box. The only problem can be finding them so stock up when you see them.

Any pics of the vortex?

Um, Hell YES!

I bought a hard case for my rifle and after customizing the foam to fit the rifle with vortex mounted and a spot for my night vision scope I realized I have 5X as much invested in optics as I do in my rifle, lol. Totally the way to go IMHO.

After my range results on Monday, I have confidence in my ability to start shooting out to 500yds. So, I also picked up one of these:

It's not possible to do accurate holdovers if your scope isn't level :)

And this so I can get a good cheek weld while prone:

Looks like you are getting into those 1% improvements that make the big differences out past 500 yds. Good to see it.

Truly

I was eyeballing a timney trigger last night, but opted instead to lighten the factory trigger all the way first. After I hit the range tomorrow morning, I'll know if I need to get a new trigger or not. But it's pretty easy to justify spending $125 on a perfect trigger :)
