Also got 500 rounds of 9mm training ammo and 100 rounds of 9mm hollow point home defense rounds. The rest is for my buddy.

I was supposed to take the Friday before we left town as PTO... but sadly I had work shit get in the way. So this Friday may be my last time to take some time off for a while so I took it. Plan is to take the little one to the farm and let her shoot her new pistol. She seems stoked about it and the weather "appears" to be nice enough to do so in the afternoon.

Did you build your own AR Michael?
I've built a few of em and will be building one for my buddy tonight.
I just finished my latest lower receiver build last night (upper is one I've had).

This lower receiver is pretty sweet. The magazine button doubles as the bolt catch. So you don't have to use your left hand to hold the bolt to the rear. Also have the bolt release right above it as well. So all your left hand has to do is insert a new mag and you can drop the bolt while putting the rifle to your shoulder. This is what Eugene Stoner should have designed IMO.

@Anathollo any experience with the bolt gun uppers that pin onto a standard AR lower? I am debating doing a build like that so I can make the most of my SBR upgrades.

I have no experience with the straight pull uppers other than random videos I've seen on them. What caliber are you wanting to shoot?

I do not know where this gun store is yet; but I do know once I get there I have a lot of questions and will need her to get a lot of guns off the bottom and really high up shelves.

That’s pretty cool. How much was the lower receiver?

Little one loved her new SR22. She also enjoyed shooting the AR.. until the sun was getting a bit lower and right in our eyes. She adjusted a bit and pulled the trigger and the stock was not against her shoulder and she got popped in the chin. Live and learn. I did have to prop the AR up on a sand bag support up front for her to shoot it, just too muchj forward weight for her little butt to hold. Hey she turned 8 a week ago, I'll cut her some slack. :)

Lower receiver was $350 from Brownells.com. I used a $40 coupon I found when I bought it.

Not sure yet; I keep going back and forth between an AR15 compatible round or going AR10 route to build a bolt 6.5 Creedmore platform. Just an idea I am still rummaging around for now.

As for tonight - I finally got around to dropping in my Echo II binary trigger. The install took about 15 mins into my Palmetto State Armory lower and cycles great through testing. Now I cannot wait to get it to a range and put it through it's paces.

If I were you, I'd wait awhile and see what the .224 Valkryie does. Supposed to have better ballistics and lighter recoil than 6.5 Creedmoor.

I know a guy who shoots a lot of long range and fast precision stuff and he told me to start saving up for my .224 Valkryie stuff. I probably should start doing that.

I'm still waiting on more published fps and standard deviation numbers as well as reviews on it. But the round is backed by JP Enterprises which says a lot since they are the #1 company in AR's. Noone makes a better AR than JP.

Dang! More than I was gonna spend.. I was looking at the Anderson lower.

Agree! Hope I am around!

Yeah it is quite a bit but this is a rifle I'm going to have for the rest of my life so it's not that expensive. But I know it's not for everyone.
I'd take a look at Aero Precision, they turn out quality lowers for cheap.
