I need to come up and have a range day with you. My .223 shoots like a .22LRHell of a start point but hard for occasional use. I do agree a good trigger and barrel is worth the money to make the overall rifle a platform that will be used more.

I'm down.I need to get a few more things setup on my 300 WM and then find a nice long range spot to punch holes in paper at.
So my trip to the far side of Dallas today ended with me bringing home a starter kit for a new toy. I have an odd love for the H&K 51k... something about a 7.62 with a 4" barrel that requires you to wear a glove on the front hand. It is hard to explain but such a blast to shoot. I also got to run a few magazines through an AR with a binary trigger. I can say it is worth the money if you want a legal way to blast through some ammo fast. I have shot a lot of different full auto AR setups and it can keep up with the vast majority of them after some practice. My gun friend has a Fostech Binary Trigger and has been recommending I buy one before they get reclassified as a machine gun by the 2018 Congress (which has been part of the discussion after the Vegas shooting). After today I do want to get one soon.
What came home...

What it will be in the end after some metal work, an SBR stamp, and a few parts.

I didn't even think about that. I don't make it to town very often so my suit lives in the dusty corner of my closetI like to wear OWB when I wear a suit.

And if you knew how much I love tees and Carharts. Problem is, I have to wear a 'uniform' some days.I didn't even think about that. I don't make it to town very often so my suit lives in the dusty corner of my closet![]()
I'm actually the oppositeget a built lower. That way you can build your upper with a high quality barrel & adjustable gas block.
@SamSter0077 most bcg are good to go. I would worry about that part honestly. But do spend your money on a great barrel. I'd recommend a Rainier arms 300 BO barrel. I've shot their 8" barrel and had a badass group freestanding.
The four things you NEED to speed money on are as follows:
1. Great trigger.
2. Great barrel. Needs to be at least $250+ plus
3. JP Enterprises silent capture spring
4. Adjustable gas block (either JP Enterprises or SLR adjustable gas block).
This is the silent capture spring. It's a "captured" buffer spring and eliminates the twang you get from a standard buffer spring. Also regulates the bolt carrier for you so it takes the guesswork out of deciding between an A2, A5, etc...type of buffer.I need to talk to you about some of these. I get the bcg not a big deal, and the barrel, as probably the most important. (Looking at ODIN works). What the devil is a silent capture spring? Gonna have to look that one up. And adjustable gas block really confuses me. More to google..
Ok. Adding them to the list. Probably gonna make a movement on the adjustable gas block first. THANKS!This is the silent capture spring. JP Rifles
For the adjustable gas system, either JP or SLR make really great gas blocks. You'll need a .750 gas port size.
JP Enterprises.
JP - Adjustable Gas Systems
SLR (they also make titanium ones too)
Sentry 7 Series
On the JP silent capture spring (SCS), you won't need the buffer retainer or buffer spring retainer.Ok. Adding them to the list. Probably gonna make a movement on the adjustable gas block first. THANKS!
@SamSter0077 Correct on all accounts@SamSter0077 I bet you just tell Mr @Anathollo your budget and he could put together a parts list or at least tell you what you can get for that $$ and what you should purchase next. I even bet if you asked nicely (beers) he would even assemble it or at least show you how. Just a thought.
I have all the AR tools you'll need to put one together.Where is this coupon from?
