I agree. Just asking for more of my tax money to pay off lawsuits due to moronic unconstitutional BS. Rule states up to one year suspension for touching a gun on or off school grounds
It's all over my right wing friends fakebook posts (how I saw it). Also actually gets some mention in the local online liberal rag HS students' suspension over gun range photo ignites uproar, potential lawsuit
Who ever was responsible for suggesting, approving, and implementing the rule should be subject to the lawsuit. It's BS that the taxpayers are the ones footing the expense for individuals stupidity. They should have to pay out of their personal assets and keep the tax payers out of it.
These idiots don't care because they will never be held personally responsible for their stupidity

Careful; it is windy today. My cousin flipped his boat in weather like this one time. He spent the evening clinging to a tree out in Cedar Creek Reservoir. Thankfully some duck hunters the next morning picked him and his dog up. He lost his decoys, a shotgun, and all the stuff in his boat. He was able to get the aluminum boat out of the water later but had to redo a lot of the stuff on it. It really screwed up his duck season.

Just a general FYI, if you buy an RMR you have to purchase a $12 sealing plate for the bottom. WTF? Why wouldn't you include that with a $500 optic? So I had to order that today as well...

Some slight good news from this authoritarian state. A little uproar with some threats of lawsuits and walla - a change in NJ school rules regarding firearms.
From this unconstitutional garbage:
"any student who is reported to be in possession of a weapon of any type for any reason or purpose whether on or off school grounds," would be subject to penalties including up to a one-year suspension.
To this that's written better:
"Students are forbidden to carry any type of weapon or simulated weapon to school," the revamped policy states. "Strict disciplinary action and legal actions will result if this occurs. Any person who knowingly has in his possession any imitation firearm in or upon any part of the building... without the written authorization of the governing officer of the institution, or while on any school bus is a disorderly person."
It's still written wrong and opening up the schols to lawsuits, but in a state full of libtards........baby steps. I am guessing the people who write our school rules have never thought to run this crap by an attorney. I'm in construction and even I see glaring issues with the new rule.

Lets talk .22LR AR platforms. Thinking about picking one up for the little one in the upcoming months. Stopped by a local gun dealer and the S&W MP22 appears to be nice.. around $400 with Magpull OD furniture (I have a complete set of Magpul OD furniture sitting at home in boxes that has never been used though). Mossberg also has one and its much cheaper, but its Mossberg. What other options? Its got to be light (8 year old shooting it), don't care about optics, don't want to spend a fortune.

Like Tex said; I would get a 10/22 and deck it out like an AR. The 10/22 action is tough to beat for 22s. Otherwise buy her a standard AR lower and get a 22LR upper conversion. That way she will have an upper already in a few years and you are not stuck with a dedicated 22 AR

I do have a couple AR lowers, I could build out a .22LR upper I suppose.
All you need is this...it's amazing and runs like a champ. Even cycles subsonic! All you do is take out your standard AR bolt, pop this .22 bolt in and it uses your .223 barrel! I absolutely love mine and the magazines are cheap too!

Yeah it's such a badass conversion for really cheap. I'm still blown away by how well it performs. I've had two FTF's out of a few hundred rounds through it. Sooo...that's pretty amazing for .22
