I have not been in there in years. Last time was about 3 years ago, we had gone back to visit family in Illinois and the temps went WAY colder than anticipated (0 with wind chills in the negatives) . Went into their local Dicks to buy the little one a coat since coats like that are really not for sale in Texas.

I hate seeing brick and mortar stores go belly up though. If they could do as @CowboyTaco suggested and just do it quietly. I agree, no one looking for a new rifle or handgun is thinking "Oh yeah, Dicks has the best prices.. lets go there". It was wasted space.. make it a sporting goods store.. no more. Their camping gear selection is a joke.

Unfortunately I have only bought 1 item from them last year, I did get a baseball bat that was 40% off and used another 40% coupon, plus free shipping, it was originally a $359 bat, I figured after all that they may have broke even or loss, I just couldn’t phantom forking out $300 plus for a baseball bat elsewhere.

Sent my XDS to Springfield last Thursday for the recall. They said 2-4 week turn around. It was delivered to them Monday and I got it back today. So quite a bit quicker than expected. I sent it to them in a box wrapped in bubble wrap and paper. Got it back in a small case and they included a free extended mag. Not bad. Now to decide if I'm going to hang onto it or not.

From what I have seen and handled my money will go to the Razor when I go into that bracket. If you buy the Viper do not look through a Razor later.

Today was a good day for pistols at my house. I picked up a Springfield XD Mod2 Tactical 9mm with the stainless slide and 6 mags for $500. I have been looking around for this setup and it seems to be advertised everywhere but actually in stock no where. This is going to be my range gun/ fun gun. It might get an optic at some point after a PRP trigger.

Also my Dad brought over a Dan Wesson that I bought while I was in the Corps. I sent him home with it years ago for a home defense pistol. He has it in his head he needs to get his affairs in order after a few friends passed away earlier this year. Not real happy with the reason; but I am happy this 1911 artwork is home again.

Razor gen 2 is the way to go. The EBR-2 (christmas tree) reticle is on sale now since they came out with new reticle designs.
The way I rationalize it is when I hunt, I can see earlier and hunt later than other people. Buy once, cry once. I also plan on keeping this scope forever and passing it on to my kiddo's.

Nope - not me for at least three weeks. I am not buying any more gun stuff until I start getting SG paychecks.

Only way you'll be able to tell is by looking at a cheaper scope next to it or by the amount of clarity you have when looking at a small target.

Pay once, cry once, smile every time you use it. For the distances you are wanting to shoot this setup at; get all the clarity you can afford.
