New to me long range freedom launcher is showing up here on Monday. Will post dets when it gets here. Got a smoking ass deal on it.

Now to decide on optics. I keep talking myself in and out of either a Vortex Viper pst gen 2 or a razor gen 2.
I have a Viper PST Gen 2. Don't know how to really use it though, haha. Just haven't made time to get out and play with it

Edit: I see you already ordered the Razor. That'll be a nice one

Recall? I hadn't heard of it...

Its waaaaay old and only applied to a certain run of serial numbers from the very first production models. It was probably 5 years ago when the recall was released. I just never had the problems so didnt have it done. But I sold the XDS Sunday. Picking up a new carry in the next week or two.

Nope, I havent completely decided yet. It wont be a Springfield though. None of my Springfields have ever let me down but I'm just wanting to try something new. I'm currently between a Kimber, a Sig, and multiple different 3-4" 1911s.

I think a XDM 10 is in my future. Do I need one.. not at all.. will I shoot it often... probably not. But I want one. :)

What caliber are you thinking for the carry piece?

I want .45 but 9mm is an option as well. I'll own a 10mm one day. But I'm looking for a carry gun right now so it's not an option this time.

You didn't ask me, but I'll answer you anyway.

.40 s&w

All I can think for a response is this...

I really don't think the .40 deserves Killary. Maybe someone more like Ronda Rousey. Not the sexiest, not the best built, but one that will knock the fuck out in a heartbeat.

But your post makes me want a 10mm even more. :D

I am pretty sure I will have a 10mm 1911 or XD before next summer. Easy - it is bear medicine for when out hunting. My sammich maker has been looking at / talking to a friend that goes elk hunting a lot and she seems to have the bug. I am going to strike while the iron is hot and she has given me the green light for "needed items".

Ah. Mine probably isn't affected then.

A guy I fly with has a 10mm 1911. Sucker is HEAVY. I'm way too skinny to attach it to my belt. Still kinda want one though...

I hand fondled a XDM 10 at my LGS. It felt just like my XDM 40.. grip was a smidge larger but not enough to bitch. As I would expect. Plus the price is right. Need to wait for Springfield to do one of their deals where you buy the gun and get free shit.

Does he fly with it? That would be bad ass... literally a canon in the plane.

Wait for their free magazines promotion. They seem to rotate their promotion every quarter.

Yep, that's what I am waiting for. My last two I bought that way.

Image didn't work for me.

but I decided to carry .40 for a couple of reasons:
  • I already owned a bunch of 9mm
  • when SHTF, 9mm and .45 acp are the first to be bought up. after sandy hook, .40 was the last to leave the shelf and the first to return.
  • It has a little more stopping power than 9mm.
  • at the time of purchase, all the .45s i looked at had considerably wider frames.

I'm not sure if it's the round or the barrel length, but my carry is very "snappy." It's not the most enjoyable to shoot, but I'm accurate with it and won't give a damn how snappy it feels if I ever need it.

9mm +P has 98% of the stopping power of a 45ACP round without the recoil and the ability to carry more rounds. The 9mm/45ACP/40SW who's better argument died out when +P ammo came onto the commercial market.

With that being said, IDAF what you carry as long as your accurate with it and comfortable carrying it lol

You are absolutely correct about ammo not being on the shelves which is why I'm stocking up right now so I won't have that issue again in the future. But lets be honest, who could've predicted that ammo/gun craze and for it to last that long as well.

I'm almost set for another ammo crazy. Only need a little more to float through another one.

Couple k of 9mm and stock up match ammo/reloading components for my new obsession and I should be good to go. 22 subs for my squirrel killer would be smart also.

If a man was smart he would buy a ton extra and flip it all next time this rolls around. $100/brick of 22lr...

And speaking of carry guns, my sig p938 disappointed me at the range the other day. 4 failures in 200 rounds. 3 of them the hammer did not lock back and I had to manually lock it back. 1 failure to eject/failure to feed. Hammer issue I think I resolved. Spring that catches the hammer seemed very weak, have a new one on order
