Image didn't work for me.
but I decided to carry .40 for a couple of reasons:
- I already owned a bunch of 9mm
- when SHTF, 9mm and .45 acp are the first to be bought up. after sandy hook, .40 was the last to leave the shelf and the first to return.
- It has a little more stopping power than 9mm.
- at the time of purchase, all the .45s i looked at had considerably wider frames.
I'm not sure if it's the round or the barrel length, but my carry is very "snappy." It's not the most enjoyable to shoot, but I'm accurate with it and won't give a damn how snappy it feels if I ever need it.
The snap is exactly why I'm not a fan of 40. I feel like it has way more recoil than what you get out of it. But that's just my opinion. Maybe I'm a pussy. 9mm +P and 45 are perfect for me. The ammo shortage isnt a concern for me. Now that I have the room in the safe, I'm working up to a 5k supply of 9mm. If I get a 45, I'll get at least 2k of that. I dont shoot a lot. Just enough to stay accurate and consistent with my guns. Other than that, I find it a waste of ammo. 5k will last me a couple years without buying ammo.
