Is it legal to shoot a potato cannon in the city? My friends and I used to shoot a massive one when we were younger

I destroyed my combustible spud gun many years ago ~ 1999, after speaking with one those government ABC agents, and Texas does considers it a firearm, and expect a trip to jail because there are a lot cities that have that stupid, “zero tolerance” view against potatoes.

Good idea! I looked to find any sort of contact info last night and found nothing. An e-mail would be totally sufficient. Ill have to see if my buddy who has a house up there and showed me the range has any contact info. It's a free first come first serve gubment site, but I'm not sure if it's state, fed, or some weird green acres type deal because it's on a refuge. The only thing they have in place is a backstop - other than that - you are in the forest on your own. No benches, seats, etc. if someone didn't tell you it was a range no one wouldn't even know it was there.

Then I just need to confirm NY's 7 round mag ban BS.

Is it too late for you to take that job in Raleigh? It gets you out from your local d-tarded boss and gets you into a gun friendly state. Plus, there is a lot of rugged undeveloped land. Seems like exactly what you want, except not as cold (but still cold enough to have snow on the ground for several months of the year).

I believe Florida considers a potato gun a firearm. Had a friend who had to disassemble his, but this was back in the 90s as well.

No, the assembled can cannon with a lower. In the eyes of the atf the lower might technically be a firearm but I don't think in this case, to local law, it can be considered a firearm. If you used a regular AR lower with a nerf gun upper is it still a firearm or is it a nerf gun? In my highly uninformed opinion This is essentially a potato cannon. Can you shoot a potato cannon in city limits?
Alright, so look at it this way. You have to use the lower to set off the center fire cartridge's primer. So you're firing a cartridge even though it doesn't have a projectile in it.

Pretty stupid either way.

That jobs still open and I do have family in Raleigh but no way in hell I'd go South. North or bust for me. I want snow and lots of it + the people who withstand and thrive in cold weather are my kind of people. Never really got along great with fair weather types. At this point in life Ive pretty much written off any friends that are fair weather fairies. Anyone I invited to last weekends paintball games who responded with a "it may rain" I never kept in the loop on future texts lol.

Lifes to short to worry about getting a little wet or cold or hot. The best is the people who tell my my summer kayak trips are set up on days it's supposed to rain. Idiots....if you plan on spending the day on the water - you will get wet.

If I planned around weather I'd never leave home.

& I'm not talking storms or weather that's going to put someones life at risk. I'm not out in my kayak in the middle of a lake screaming at God to bring more lighting while holding an aluminum paddle in my hands lol

You could live next to this guy. Pretty sure he don't give a flip about the weather either.

He'll fix yer truck and get you drunk at the same time. All in under 6 minutes flat.

I like those kind of people. The self sufficient ones - not the drunks.

Interesting. Guess it’s a good thing we didn’t get caught, ours would launch a potato at least 100 yards I’d say

I thought I recognized him. I used to watch moonshiners or whatever it's called when it first came out.

when I kept seeing the same people commit felonies on TV in season two after season one aired I assumed it was all a set up.

speaking of BS tv channels - shame whats become of the discovery channel, but I guess it's working out. Take a look at the founders house thats for sale. Discovery Channel Founder Lists Remote Colorado Ranch for $279 Million

That's how I found out about it. Crazy! Only thing it's missing is a gun range, but I guess you could use the landing strip for that kind of fun

Imagine being the real estate agent who gets commission on that sale....

The out of pocket upfront expenses on the realtor would be crazy, but with high risk sometimes comes high reward.
