I know the military went with the 5.56 because the air cavity behind it caused massive damage to a human.. a bear... maybe not so much. But with 15+1 rounds in a 10mm at hand, its not a bad option.

Y'all are funny with this bear talk. A well placed shot of any caliber will do the trick. The bigger caliber / more velocity / deeper penetration reasons sound like "I can't shoot so I want something that can shoot for me." Is one better than the other? Sure. I don't see how one couldn't be better then the other. But you act like a .45 isn't going to be sufficient.

Even with thick skin, that's enough power to penetrate deep and stop an animal of that size.

I wish. I traded it and a 12 gauge to Drew for that T100 years ago. I do want to pick up another one at some point.
The .204 Ruger was a badass round. It got a bad rap as a barrel burner but few people shoot enough to really see that.

The one I had was a CZ American with a heavy bull barrel, mauser action and a walnut stock. It was damn nice and was good for at least 500 yrds. ( never shot it out past that) You wouldn't think it, but that was a deer slayer.

I had to double check - but yes. Hornady and Ruger developed the round for release.

Thought so. Didn't they do the same with the .17 HMR? That's another one that I own and love, but it's a Savage rifle.

Quarter Billion Dollar loss for Dick's after AR policy. Yet, the CEO says that he'd do it again.
"CEO Ed Stack decided not only to stop selling certain guns and to hire lobbyists to push for stricter gun-control policies, but he also chose to stop selling firearms to customers under the age of 21 and had the company destroy $5 million of rifle inventory."
You know, after they decided to stop selling ARs, I figured "I'll still shop there if they have the best prices" (which they rarely do). But seeing that they are actively anti-American....I think I'm done. I'll pay more if I have to and not get anything from them. I would love to see them go out of business at this point.
