M&P 2.0 with a threaded barrel is $459. I don't think that includes suppressor height sights, but that's not an expensive upgrade. If you wanted to run a red dot, then ship it off to Jagerwerks to get it milled for an RMR.

Yeah you'll need to keep checking everyday and see if one becomes available online.

And yeah those Crimson Trace red dots are trash. That's why I said you send it off to Jagerwerks and get the slide milled for an RMR. Much better option.

Holosun is fine for plinking guns. I wouldn't trust it for daily carry.

My buddy had a Holosun crap out on our hunting trip. It was barely used and on a .22 rifle. The shake awake on my Holosuns isn't reliable enough that I can trust it.

The Run n Gun competition guys are straying away from holosun setups lately. They put gear through lots of abuse and are noticing failures that were not there a few years ago.

The older models / manufacture dates are okay. Just seems the pieces made in the last few years are not holding up. Hopefully it is just a recent QC issue. I have a couple Holosun optics on my gear list to pick up too.

I hear a lot of people talking about some dude on YouTube who torture tests them. Something like a drop on the optic after 500 rounds, many of them rapid fire. Racking the slide by using the red dot on a wall corner or similar object.

Guy that works at the range told me that if I were going to Afghanistan tomorrow to get the RMR, but for everything else the Holosun is the go-to that he is comfortable with. I'm sure all Holosun red dots are not created equal. I think this was the 507C that we were talking about.

And if you're daily carrying a red dot, just spend the extra money and get an RMR. It makes no sense to carry something that could fail on you, especially with how good the RMR's track record is.

I don't have any intentions of getting the red dot right now. I just prefer to get one that has the option should I decide to add down the road. At this time, I'm leaning heavily toward the M&P2.0 compact with the threaded barrel. If I go down the red dot path later, I'll send the slide off to get milled.

Got my Tier One holster in. I rented a bunch of holsters beforehand to try them out and finally settled on the Tier One being the most comfortable.
The OD Green looks darker and better in person. Really happy with how the color came out.
