You starting an onlyfans too now? On a more serious note, how to do you plan to do that? What good/service will you offer them to convince them that you are the place their inherited money needs to go?

Mainly skilled services. Most of the younger generation that I have interacted with have little ambition or capability to do anything on their own (the majority of them at least). So any sort of moderately skilled trade or service will make a killing when that generation has more money than intelligence.

I have already seen this inherit-live large-broke cycle play out with a few grandkids of people I knew. Everyone shook their head when the kids got their money and they blew thru it hard and fast living the TikFake life. I have even debated getting training in pool maintenance. I know a pool guy in my neighborhood that is fully booked and making over $150k a year servicing pools (and of course we joke house wives too).

I heard on the radio that for every two construction workers that retire, they only have one person to replace them.

On another note, what does this companies logo look like to you at first glance? :roflmao:

My company is not replacing people in maintenance as they retire. After next year we will have one electrician that has more than 5 years experience. They could easily fill the positions if they wanted to without too much of a dip in experience levels over the next few years but they say we’re “overmanned” which is not the case at all.

the correct term is “overstaffed” as we are not allowed to assume a gender in todays modern age of multi gender LG HDTV society.

Market has been on a run. Is this a pump before the dump?

I started to exit a few positions today.
Looking to put about 45 to 50% of my total portfolio into core/money market accounts at 5% yields

Yep, we are in a hiring freeze right now. They won't even let us replace positions of people who retire or quit. I normally have between 8-10 field carpenters but now I have 4 field guys for our entire operation which is too few. It's been a frustrating year and I've been telling admins that their work orders aren't being completed as fast as usual because we're so understaffed. And with more & more people coming back into the office, we've had more maintenance and little BS work orders to take care of.

Ok, 1 month later, market is down 5%. Plan ahead or attach seat belts for the ride.

Jeeze, I'm really enjoying this rain!!

On Friday, the S&P 500 has fallen into correction territory.

And the good news, is what this graph represents. Now to start to slowly buy back in.

I remember my father doing this once a year growing up. It would take him most of a weekend to finish everything but we weren't allowed to eat at the kitchen table or play in/around the kitchen & office because both would be full of paperwork and receipts lol
I scan our business receipts in once or twice a month and label them so that way it doesn't accumulate for tax time. It'll all be organized in a shared google folder with my wife.

That exact same scenario you described is what happened here, lol

The hardest part I have is keeping the mileage written down for the farm truck, I need to keep a small log book in there.
The receipts are various sizes/paper types, and I'm sure the printer/scanner would eat those thin ones. But, the scanning apps available for smart phones are getting pretty decent. Next year,(2025) I'm gonna try and use a scanning app and drop the files into the apporiate categories on a shared Google drive folder, I like that idea.(thanks!)

I pretty much have all the categories memorized, and I use only about 8 of them if no rental equipment is involved.
I just write the number down on each receipt, many times it's multiple numbers on one receipt. Then I go back through all the receipts, tally that dollar amount according to the number. PITA.

Use Google Keep app instead of a log book. That way you can access the log book on any device you are signed into. Google Keep is what I use for all my notes, log books for our vehicles and check lists (my wife and I share a grocery checklist, house checklist, etc...). I have a whole homescreen page on my phone dedicated to Keep and it works out great for me. Once you get the hang of it, it's really handy.

They say a recession is predictable and hits after 10 quarters after the Feds raise interest rates. And since the Feds first tate hikes began in March 22, and eight quarters have already passed. The later part of 2024 late Fall, a recession begins...
