This last week has been BRUTAL. I have a friend that lost 7 figures in options he had. I have a MSFT bull call spread that would require a 10% or more bump by next month. Its been one of those weeks. :(
Come March time frame, the feds better eat their shorts prior to making a drastic decision, their talk alone has everyone running scared.

Yep. I have a prospect that insists that he should not list until spring even though his home is unoccupied and making payments on an $800k loan of his dads - at 8% interest. As you know, the client is always right. I did share with him that it is forecasted to increase a few more times before the end of the year. He had already had 3 beers and got rather belligerent about how Biden won't let that happen. I just said that time will tell and he has to do what is right for him. I thought the guy was going to punch me for mentioning the signaling.

People are getting very dark these days. My buddy was always riding high. Even he is dark this week.

It has been a brutal week. I've made a few small purchases on stuff that I like that I know will be solid long term, but hearing a 10% correction over the next few months has me thinking I should hold out longer. Since no one can time the market, I'll just keep dollar cost averaging.

I haven't ventured into the world of options yet. I hear people talk about it all the time, but I'm not ready to gamble like that. I'm sticking to stocks.

This guy took a 2 mil portfolio to 5 mil in the course of 4 years. But those were during a time that the federal government wasn't trying to turn us into a tech company run socialist country.

With options?
Mostly.

Man this week is painful if I look at the 'losses' I locked in do to stop loss orders. I have more time. ...more time working that is! lol

Well, I think it is clear that Biden is making Obama look like a strong president.

With the inflation rate now approaching 8% this week, this crap is getting out of hand.
Markets are going turn and burn, Biden has given mixed messages on Ukraine, now all the sudden U.S. troops are being considered.

I've made a conscious decision to stop the hate toward Biden. He is not the right man for the job. Period.

That said, cognitive decline is hard to watch. My grandfather died of Alzheimer's disease and it is not pretty. I hope that he will step down as Commander in Chief, because you know he has to know that he is in decline. He HAS to be embarrassed at how things are going. The problem is that the next two in line are no better than he. I'm pretty sure he isn't calling the shots now anyway.

I do not know how to tell the difference between dementia and Alzheimer's, but it seems clear that he is experiencing one of the two.

Yes it is. The worst part is that I do believe this is purely by design. The uber rich liberals and the money behind them have harvested huge surpluses for themselves and now can weather a deep financial winter that will destroy their 'competition.' I am glad that I got to experience some success in the past and hope that can continue for a bit. Not sure how long my bumper car will last in this 'city traffic.'

And a liberal friend just contacted me about finances this morning, I know he is worried about the market, I basically told him in a nice way, I can't help him anymore because our political and some personal values don't align, and it goes against my personal and financial efforts, might be last time we communicate, IDK, it just doesn't make sense for me to help him out, what he does with his votes and dollars indirectly affects me or my family. Sorry, I was thinking family first, I hope the good Lord is on my side this morning...I feel bad, but then again, I Don't.

Update;
He didn't dispute my decision, he did agree that we need to go out grab a beer lol, damn I hope I don't get shanked now.

I can so relate to that. I don't need many friends but I do need friends that don't detract from my personal happiness. Financial security is part of that. I have a number of friends but fewer that I would jump in the same fox hole with. :)

And just a a bit of food for thought and inspiration for this Senior.

From Justin Nutt:
An extensive study in the U.S.A found that the most productive age in human life is between 60-70 years of age.
The 2nd. most productive stage of the human being is from 70 to 80 years of age.
The 3rd. most productive stage is from 50 to 60 years of age.
The average age of NOBEL PRIZE winners is 62 years old.
The average age of the presidents of prominent companies in the world is 63 years.
The average age of the pastors of the 100 largest churches in the U.S.A. is 71.
The average age of the Popes is 76 years.
This tells us in a way that it has been determined, that the best years of your life are between 60 and 80 years.
A study published in NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL OF MEDICINE found that at age 60, you reach the TOP of your potential and this continues into your 80s.
Therefore, if you are between 60 -70 or 70-80 you are in the BEST and 2nd. level of your life.

Is it bad that today I was thinking I should have a Dog Food Party. You know one to get us adjusted to the future under the poor, fully excusable man in the Oval Office? Is that not healthy? After all, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) requires that all animal foods, like human foods, be safe to eat, produced under sanitary conditions, contain no harmful substances, and be truthfully labeled. In addition, canned pet foods must be processed in conformance with the low acid canned food regulations to ensure the pet food is free of viable microorganisms, see Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 113 (21 CFR 113).

I am certain that it would be healthier than the average diet in the US.

I hope this analogy helps...
The crash from less than 2 years ago is relatively recent compared to the overall history of the market(that uncertainty adds risk), although it had a fast recovery, the potential wound is still there to be gouged again.

BTW, I was ecstatic to hit a 33.08% overall return last year.

They since edited the article after the last 2020 crash, dang I'm gonna have start saving the print pdf versions.

*Something to note, the S&P 500 hasn't had a double digit pull back in almost 2 years, and history repeats itself. The marginal debt is twice a much now, then it was back in March of 2020, Feds want to increase interest rates, let's see how the meeting goes tomorrow and Wednesday without out any policy changes, that's scheduled to occur in March.
