Beautiful country! I need to get up there in another season. Every time I head North is in winter to ski so I see totally different scenery. I was up at Lake Louise around 2008 I think. Only wild animal I saw was a mountain goat when we stopped to take a break on the side of the mountain.

The scenery out here is something else. Right now there's a great exchange rate on the dollar can't think of a better time to come visit! ;)

If US DUI's weren't considered a felony offense in Canada that makes it hard to get in I'd take you up on that, but sadly most of my friends who like to explore have them or similar offenses on their records. It's hard enough to get my friends to agree on a domestic location for a trip let alone international with strict customs. After our last trip (Banff) where two of my buddies got extorted for hundreds of dollars by customs now they all say "F" Canada lol We were at the international airport in Alberta and customs told them you can pay a few hundred and sign waivers or fly home. :asz:

This was before a passport was required to fly in so they had no clue they would have issues.

I'm totally OK with not letting people into your country that don't align with your standards. I just need more law abiding friends.

You can't visit Canada if you have a DUI? For how long? That seems a little extreme to me.

Thank you! The Rockies are just to the west of me. This trail is 45 minutes from my door. I'm very sad they are closing the trail but there's a species of fish that could go extinct if we don't do something.

That sucks. Why does wheeling on this trail affect the fish? (just curious)

I bet its the same reason we can't drive in streams in Texas. Destroys their habitat I'm guessing.

Yeah I was thinking maybe they just crossed at one point in the stream. But maybe they drive a large section of it or something.

DUI's are a criminal offense in Canada. If you have a criminal record you cannot enter into Canada. If I have a criminal record I cannot go to the US. You can ask for a pardon which should allow you entrance but pardons can be costly.

Going through streams/rivers can stir up sediment which can then settle on the fertilized eggs essentially suffocating (no light) the little critters. There's also the foreign contamination such as grease and oil and whatever else which can be extremely harmful to the environment. Plus that is upstream from my tap water. That trail crosses the same water about 9 different times and there is no way to reroute the trail or build bridges.
