lol Back in the TW days I would of asked him if he wanted his skull f*cked. That kind of talk usually weeded out the weak from attending the meets....or maybe that backfired so only the weird showed up?

Wait... nobody said we did skull fucking!!! Heck yeah!

Also I'm just going to say right now... Our list of people is already nearing the max. I know it's far away and things can change a lot between now and then but there's no way I'd let more than 10 vehicles go on this trip. Think we had 7 or 8 last time and it was plenty; though a couple more wouldn't have been too bad as long as their rigs were adequately setup.

The good ol days...

Looks like people are starting to come in from TW. Hopefully it's not the full blown tards.

Even though I'm no longer a fan of TW, I did meet a ton of cool people on there and it even got me laid back in the day. Man that chick was fugly though.

I meant to go on the last high water trail trip but had to cancel due to family plans. I don't know for sure if I'll make it on this one, depending on if I can get time off and if my wife is alright for a bit on her own as she's due in July. October should be long enough to recover, but not sure she wants to take care of two kids alone.
As for thick skinned.. yeah, you can't say much that'll bother me. I'm definitely not a millenial. Matt did direct me here while we were working on my truck yesterday.
Didn't figure on needing to introduce myself as I've been on other sites for quite some time, but if you want me to do so, I certainly can. Probably after I get home from work.

Thanks. It's in need of some work right now sadly.
I'm finishing my undergrad right now, in exercise science. Plan to go to Physical Therapy school. Working with a chiropractor currently as an assistant movement specialist. In other words, I help with rehabilitation exercises and whatnot.

Man, y'all bash TW so much! I met some awesome folks and learned a ton from that site. If it wasn't for TW, I probably wouldn't have ended up here!

I do think that placing a cap on this trip is a good idea. Not trying to sound like a dick, but you can only fit so many trucks into some of those camping areas and I don't want to spend all day getting over one obstacle either

TW has more than its fair share of douchecanoes, that shit doesn't navigate too well with us here.

The first post says it all... you rig needs to be capable. You bring an open/open mall crawler out and I am not dragging your ass through the trails. Leave it at home and ride bitch with someone. If a guy breaks that's a different story, but showing up with a vehicle that is not capable will not cut it. As for TardWorld... fuck that place and what color plastiderp you should dip your shit in. There are some good articles over there but there are also a bunch of fucking idiots. Cap idea is a good one.. I'll set it at 10. We can be a bit flexible but I think 10 is pushing it. I don't like to go wheeling with more than about 6 or 7.. just spreads shit out too far and you are playing slinky all day.

Not that I'm going on this trip, but some other groups I've seen have "minimum gear requirements" that help weed out people that would slow the group down. Things like a spare within 1" of your other 4 tire sizes (i.e. no stock spare if you're on 33s), a hi-lift, shovel, fire extinguisher, CB radio, etc.

I like that idea.

Last big trip I was on when my truck ran was 15+ trucks. Constant issues due to idiot owners. Biggest delay was the tool bag who put wheel spacers on the day before the trail ride so his truck could look cool. He used a shallow wall socket to install them, never used loctite, and never re-torqued them down after 50 miles. They came loose and we ended up playing grab ass for 1-1/2 hrs hammering what seemed to be a square peg into round holes because no one had shallow walled sockets. Hammered them in - then had to slide hammer them out. Total PITA

Like in the first post maybe? :devil-flip:
4: What should my rig have?
Well lets do the obvious.. 4WD, maybe some 32" or taller AT or MT tires, F & R recovery points, at least one locker, some recovery gear (HiLift with places on your rig to use it, good strap(s) and some D-rings), a winch would be nice to have, but really bring a brain that knows how to use the above. We will not be purposefully going out there to hammer on rocks or bury a rig in the mud but you know.. shit happens so plan accordingly. If you are really fond of that new car smell maybe you need some Weathertech floomats.. or maybe you are really fond of that nice straight rocker panel so you might want sliders... or maybe you are really fond of that perfectly working front diff... you might want some skids. You see what I'm saying right. If not, maybe you don't need to join us.

Now I didn't say it had to have it.. thats my bad.. I'll be more direct and update it. :)

If there's this many guys pissed off at TW that ought to tell you something. All of the drama that made us leave happened a long time ago and it was bad enough that we never went back.

Good idea to all of this. This needs to be a set standard for all of our wheeling trip threads.

Having the bare minimum gear is always nice lol

Funny, but making people ride bitch when they don't have the gear only entices them to get the gear. Guy who used to always leave his truck at my house when we wheeled and was afraid to park his Tacoma near other cars now has turned his pavement pounder into a raisin with a crawl box.

I just read it... :roflmao:

Does it count if my truck has a locker but it doesn't work? Open/Open rules and so does O'Doyle lol
